It would be more sensible for personal use.

If I were to consider a used iPhone 12, I already have the mindset that I am paying said amount for eg. a 20 months old iphone 12. Unless the price your 1 month old refurbished set is close to the 20 month old set, I won't even consider it since my mind & wallet is not ready to match your price.

I don't know the specifics, but say your 1 month old refurbished iphone 12 is similar priced with a 6-8 months old iphone 13. I will gladly take the 13 tbh.

I will choose refurbished if price is the same as 1 year old used for sure!

Have not buy refurbished before. But If were a 2nd hand phone buyer I will pay no more than a minimal premium for it. Technically there is no way for you to find the actual "Activation date" for any iphones.

Only thing that you could do is provide your invoice when apple sells/exchange a refurbish set for you.

To sum it up, it all round down to price.

I was a hunting a used iPhone 8 Plus 256GB about 3 months back. I bought a used one for $275, age of phone unknown so i'll assume it's release day set. Using it daily for work, smooth like butter no lag or flaws whatsoever (Maybe I am lucky.)

Some arrogant guy selling his "Tip top condition" iPhone 8 Plus 256GB Product Red for $499. Till today still unsold

The used market is very simple. People who hunt for older phones will look for the cheapest price with the best condition. Unless your price for your "perfect condition" phone is on par with the market rate or at most $50-100 extra. The interest will be low.

Can call for express replacement. Means they charge you full price first and send a refurbished set then you send the spoil one back to them. after that they received your spoilt set they will return you money minus the applecare repair fees.

Anyone actually cancelled express replacement before..
Yesterday I had a dead iPad under apple care and the chat agent arranged for an express replacement for me,

today morning I connect the iPad to a Mac follow some online tutorial forced it into DFU mode and performed a restore. Now the iPad has no issues at all.

wondering if anyone cancelled in the past before or I should just accept the replacement set and send back the existing unit

Previously I bought a replacement set iPhone on Carousell with 1 year AppleCare+ remaining and I just trusted the previous owner. He only provided me a copy of the original sales receipt for the device, but I will still need the AppleCare agreement number and the proof of coverage for the AppleCare plan.

It extends your warranty.

and also covers accidental damage.

if got issue during extended warranty period, you can book an appointment to go down and fix the issue for free when you wouldn’t be without the purchase.

for the accidental damage, you pay a service fee and they either fix the issue or provide a 1-1

So far my Apple device bought AC+ from Apple got proof of coverage email with agreement number and AC+ bought from ALab and Shopee did not send me any agreement email in the past.

I sold my iPhone 13PM months ago and took quite a while to verify my AC+ from Shopee although there’s an agreement number and service still in active under my account.
The apple staff asked for my agreement number and where I had bought it and send me an email to reply them with my proof of purchase.
luckily I did asked for and invoice from Shopee when I bought my AC+ last year and screenshot my order in Shopee.

Buy from apple less headache. I got apple care for ipad from retailer & for some reason it kept not showing up in icloud. Had to call apple & after verifying some info they did something back end & icloud now shows apple care.

I got my 14plus  care+ from ALab. I did receive e agreement email from 

My iPhone 11PM I never get AC+
iPhone 12PM I got from Carousell with very high and positive reviews seller and got scammed (AC+ Voided)
iPhone 13PM I got from Apple directly and iPhone 14PM I decided not to get.

AC+ makes no differences if you selling to shop cos they don't need AC+ and if your is exchanged/refurbished set, price will drop.
It's only got for those buyer looking to upgrade older model with a budget and get it cheaper than a new set and at the same time with 1 year accidentally coverage instead of new set at higher price and normal coverage.
