Cause and effect. The question should be "Is hollywood dead?" instead. If hollywood is no longer able to make blockbusters that people want to watch, then naturally less people will go cinemas. Case in point, when kpop demon hunters was showing here, it was packed with people. Ditto for the wolverine and deadpool movie.

Compared to Bangkok cinemas showing the same show, "The Mandalorian" and Grogu popcorn buckets are the same as the US large size Grogu, ATS-ATS, and helmet. However, Singapore only has one ugly drinking cup.

I watch at least 2 movies a mth.
I am supporting .

Nothing beats watching in theater.
The saying 12 15 bucks a tick is expensive are crap. U wanna compare to JB I nothing to say..everything is cheaper there

2hrs Aircon with entertainment is worthy
Now bbt also 5dollar

Everyone earning 5k but wanna compare to spending like 2k times
No all percentage of population are working, not all working adults earn 5k or more.

cinemas have lost the volume permanently bec of technological shift, netflix started off mailing dvds and now they stream to your home, no more hassles of buying tickets or travelling, u go cinemas if u desire physical meetings.

there will still be a niche crowd for it, but its too small to sustain cinemas like 30 years ago.

These days people are accustom to 5 mins short videos. Few people will seat inside a dark place for 2 to 3 hours of movies without checking their phones every few mins for content and entertainment
