Thank you SD, Sn.

Sorry didn't get back to you completely. I was trawling TGP and getting a sense of what's on the market. Managed to buy a nice Giant TCX SLR 2. Figure it's a good introduction to road cycling but still allows me to cycle on pavements and all (not allowed, I know. But I will build up the courage to get onto the road eventually!) Came with a set of 700x35 tyres which matches my current hybrid so I don't have to fear the tyres/wheels falling into uncovered drain grilles.

Now to slowly build my fitness back up! Any slow riding groups around the East?

/Dan

I reckon you'd be going quite fast quite soon :)
What sort of timing and route are you keen on?

I used to ride on road when I had road bike in the past. Now I very humji. 90% of my time is pavement or pcn. No choice, old liao, no stamina, here pain there pain, mind cannot focus. Better be safe.

Haha. I am very new. And no, not soon. I am grossly overweight and need to slowly build it up. The bike was motivation to exercise and to go further.

Haha. Your wols makes me feel like I'm crawling.

It was listed on TGP for $1800. Bought it this morning. But now I don't find the ad.

Can. =) Need to train first before I get nearer your level.

Where's the best place to mount a bell on drop handlebars?

I have these Cateye Kodama Bell OH-2100. Currently, I placed the bell beside the stem. But unlike the flat bar where I can ring it, it seems I must take a hand off to ring the bell on a roadie.

Hey all, I have been stalking this thread since page 1. Finally decided to create an account and seek y'all's advise. :s13: I would like to seek some advices and recommendations on bike upgrades. I'm new to all the bicycle jargon and I can only refer to areas of the bike where I wish to improve.

I just hooted my first bike a few months back, a Polygon Heist 3.0 2015 (hybrid). Here's the site to its specs: polygonbikes.com/sg/bikes/description/2015-heist-3.0#spec

I normally cycle for leisure on the PCN, up to 20KM. For when my friends and I decided to go on a night cycling trip (for food =:p), we may clock up to 50KM+. From these long distance trips, I feel like changing the flat bar to a drop bar to increase comfort, as well as changing to shifters. I feel like the fork could be better as well.

For the above, is it feasible? If so, what components/brands/models would you recommend? I bought this bike for $500, so my budget for these components should only be a fraction of it, not more than $250 total (hopefully). I intend to slowly upgrade my bike since I do not have much disposable income as a student.

Other than the parts mentioned above, what are some parts that you guys think could be upgraded further?

Thanks in advance! :D
