Hi all,

May I check which one is more suited for road please? I think the tern p20 has an advantage coz of the bigger wheel to maintain speed easier but I also think Tyrell fx is good enough as well.

need advice please.

Thank you.

Ya like the average cruising speed.. I like both not sure which to buy. Really love the workmanship of tyrell but tern seems to be a better road performer for a foldie?

Between Tern and Tyrell... If price isn't an issue then the choice is really clear isn't it?

Between mid folding joint and no mid folding joint, 10/10 will choose no mid folding joint if you want a better ride.

Yeah that's what I like about tyrell.. I'm leaning towards tyrell also just concern about 26inch vs 20inch tyre. Thanks for the advice.

anyone can recommend a folding bike ?

looking through qoo and was overwhelmed by the choices

1) used to commute (last mile option via mrt)
2) 177cm , 86kg

I guess most 26 inch foldies won't be able to fit MRT"s 90 cm requirement but I am afraid that some of the smaller wheels one would puncture all the time :s22:

Tern p20? You meant verge p20? It is a 20inch tyre... same as tyrell fx.

Between both, if folding speed and footprint are not an area of concern for you, I think the choice is clear. Tyrell FX is built for speed, and will be more comfortable too. The wheelbase and geometry are also similar to road bike, so it will be more stable at high speed. P20 has mid frame pivot... vibration will be high during high speed.

smaller wheels doesnt puncture more than big wheels.. there is no connection nor scientific proof. Puncture happens to all bikes, depending where you ride and how unlucky u are :s22:

Big wheel rotate less. Surface area in contact is lesser compare to small wheels which rotate more.
Hahahahaha
Also grime on your chain can weigh you down and make you less aerodynamic.

;P

@iridoit what's your budget and use? You should test ride before buying bicycles...

think he meant the eclipse P20 with the 26 inch wheels.

The Eclipse P20 footprint is much bigger than any 20 inch bike. Dont think the eclipse is design for performance but comfort.
In terms of performance, Tern introduce the X series.. do not know what is the difference though. Vibration is one, flexing is another issue.

big wheel rotate less but still you roll on the tyre surface :s22:, simi logic :s13:
Surface area depends on the thickness.

You do know that there are timing restrictions on bringing bikes on MRT?

Anyway if so, what's your budget? If below $500, perhaps java TT7 or dahon route and maybe tern link C7? Not sure about tern, but the java is hard to move around while folded. Dahon has the landing gear which makes it a breeze to roll around in the station.

Eclipse p20? There will be concerns over the paired spokes. Not sure if those are enough to support his weight, especially when going over potholes.

X series is always ranked higher than p series in their hierarchy.

Yea 9:30 - 4 , after 8pm. The foldie would primarily be used on Sundays in case it rains. I am using an electric kick scooter and that can't be used when it rains.
