what is a typical monthly salary like (with comm) for a) new headhunter b) average headhunter c) good headhunter

a) New headhunters typically don't earn commission. They start off as a researcher, which means they only source for candidates to be passed on to a more senior person

b) 6k to 10k a month (basic plus commission)

c) more than 150k commission alone (excluding basic)

If person got dismissed due to poor performance, will it affect ur consideration for future openings?

Sent from GAGT Android App

Not really. I still see people who are dismissed get good jobs.

Yes and No. Depends on what skills he has. I have seen people dismissed due to poor performance still get good jobs in big companies

For a new Comer into the recruitment industry,
1 - what should be the expected range of basic salary I should look at?
2 - commission package?

Let's say I'm recruiting within the 2k to 4k range.

I don't want to feel underpaid. Lol.

Typically 2k to 3k basic salary. Commission varies from company to company

Any job portal to recommend for job seekers?

Jobsdb, efinancialcareers, jobstreet, jobsbank, linkedin jobs

Do you headhunt for Investment Banking?!

Yes, but only some roles and not all

U want to work gahmen agency is like this one.

You 1 day pangsai how many times and PCC how many times they know also. :D

nah, i applied others before and went interview before too.
nothing as extensive as the mindef one, where they also dug my brother's occupation which was gov related but confidential too...just to sound me out if he also told me/family...lol

that was some years back. i guess they were pretty new and also confidential in nature...hence the info collected was creepy enough to deter me...1 in the family is enough i guess.

hi ts, would you be able to give advice for improving such a cross over?

basically have been in the generalist executive grade for about 4-5 years and of those years, at least 3 of them were basically the 2nd man after the HOD or the deputy so to say...

what can be done to improve my chances to crossing in managerial posting?
As i'm looking to try applying to these posts in the coming year.
I update my linkedin/resumes/portals regularly with my projects/jobscope.

Emphasize on your importance to the team.

Eg: Act as the Head when he is absent, etc.

Make executive decisions on behalf of the head.

I have a friend with experience in Big4 M&A for 2 years.

Can I know what are his chances of breaking into IBD in an IB?

Around how much can he expect?

1) Curious. Is there an age range of the ppl who are headhunted?
ie. Do companies prefer younger, more energetic executives?
Or maybe more experienced heads?
Or differs from company to company?

2) Qualifications or results?
Between a young, highly qualified but little work experience, as opposed to a more experienced, less professional certification?

3) How would you say the job market is doing? Gahmen always say v good. EDMW always say v bad. Your professional opinion?
What are some of the more high demand industries and how much do they pay?

Better to get promoted in big 4 first before jumping than jump in too fast.

Ideally at least become an assistant manager.

10% to 15% above his current salary

what's the main age group and seniority headhunters normally look at? C-level?

how do HHs defer from recruiters, or is it basically the same thing, just a different and nicer title?

Do you contact all the candidate's references prior to hiring? If so, what do you ask?

what's the % of salary cut you get?

also, how competitive is the industry (i assume, quite competitive right?)

1) Hottest candidates are those between the age of 30 to 40, especially if they have relevant working experience in relation to the job they apply for

Not too old, but got maybe 5 to 10 years relevant working experience

2) Qualifications first then results. We are in Singapore after all. But if no qualifications if the results are good still will be considered. Got many highly paid professionals who only have ACCA for example.

3) Job market is very good. Only if you have the right skills. Job market is bad if you have the wrong skills. Certain areas like Operational Risk, Compliance in banks are in super high demand, The banks want to hire Singaporeans, but very few Singaporeans are skilled in it (Sometimes because they not interested to work in those areas)

1) Depends from company to company. My company for example don't do any role below 4k salary.

2) Recruiters charge clients less money. They don't do retainer (retainer means the client pays the HH money even before they start the recruitment process, even if the HH don't get anyone to join them, they still earn)

Recruiters usually also can do all roles, even those below 4k. And the roles they do have a lot of candidates everywhere. Like fresh grad positions

3) Yes. Standard questions relating to the candidate's job performance.

4) I don't get cut of the salary. I get cut of the revenue i earn for my company

5) Very competitive. Which is why reputation is very important especially if you are doing higher level recruitment, or working with bigger companies.

Thanks for replying.
Semi-serious question.

There used to be this urban legend floating around about how a consultant went to a company (I think IBM) to improve their processes. Apparently, in his report to the boss, he mentioned that everything looked good, but that "there was this one guy in an office, and everytime I looked in on him, he had his feet on his desk and seemed to be staring into space. If you want to improve your processes, firing him would be a good start."
To which the boss replied, that man once had an idea that saved the company billions of dollars. When he had that idea his feet were right there on his desk as they are now.

So my question is...
Really got this type of job or not? (Sit there and think of how to save company money.)
How to apply? :s12::s12::s12:

yes, there is. they are usually working in corp dev and their 'entry level' is quite senior in the org (to cut down barriers to access of info). some also call them in-house consultants.

our local banks also have. it's a small team of ex-mckinseys, all ivy league pedigree. 'Entry level' is SVP.

you want a job there? can. get an ivy league degree, and work in JPM, goldman, Mckinsey, Bain, BCG first.
