How much time do you spend looking through each resume sent by candidates?

Do you automatically filter out candidates who spam their resumes to you, for different positions?

If a candidate sends in a résumé a few hours after the job is posted, do you all start calling, assuming that he meets the criteria, or do you compile a few more resumes and only start calling after a few weeks?

1) Less than 2 minutes

2) No. Usually after i see the resume, i think of where i can send the person (if the person has the right skills)

Assume i do roles for skillset A, B and C. You apply for A, but you might be more relevant to B. I will still keep your cv/speak to you on job B instead.

3) Immediately call. Because i will want to call him before other head hunters call him.

1. People with criminal records definitely will not be headhunted no matter how good their cv?

2. How about people convicted by court of law but no criminal record.

3. Do headhunter/HR really go through the so called criminal record database?

4. Is there a convicted by court database? If people don't declare how?

thanks for the response :)

1. Is PMP/Prince 2 very important for IT management roles? or experience is more important?

2.if you're earning around 6100, whats the highest you can reasonably ask for in IT (i heard they seldom offer beyond 20%)?

3.Is a cover letter essential for jobsbank applications? or just nice to have? (cover letter is the one that takes a long time to personalize)

No, but depends in the job you applying for. Eg: You last time Accounting manager, and you convicted of crime of embezzlement.

3) No. But we outsource it to other companies to do it. The most famous company who does this is First Advantage.

4) Companies use first advantage. Trust me, they are very good. They will literally dig out everything about you.

I am not an IT guy but i have done IT recruitment before (long ago)

But, IMO, PMP is very important because in IT industry, certs are important. Prince2 is less common because it is a USA standard

Both are equally as important. (experience and certs)

2) Depends on how many people in Singapore have your skillset. If few people have it, you can ask for higher pay.

3) No. not essential

Do you put the interest of the job hunter first or yours?

Myself?

I would say 50/50.

Because in every contract we sign with a client, we have a guarantee clause.

Eg: If the employee quit within a certain period (usually 6 months), we get the amount deducted from our revenue targets

I LOL'ed at this.......... :s8: :s13: :s22:

Nope.

My company does hires above 4k. (as per MOM licence) because some jobs pay less than others

Doesn't mean i do it.

Most of the roles i do start at 100k. I still do 4k roles now and then but a lot less than many years ago

;)

Guess most headhunter are like this.

A headhunter divulged my application to another coy, one that I am not interested in. Sugar coat everything and tried to make me sign up..no doubt the remuneration is superb but not what I am looking for. When I refused, the guy actually visited my office and make known that I am looking for another job..it is a foreign recuiter.

B headhunter is nice..advised me that my asking is too low. I can get 40% more. Tailored interviews with coy I like and advise career progression...

Guess got different grade huan.
