Hi YamahaSG

So only the RX-671 and RX-771 have phono inputs, yes?

What's the RRP for these two models?

Thanks

Robert

Hi Bro,

I was recommended the 5.1 MHT5712 Titanium Piano BL when I was looking around for a 5.1 system. He was saying this will be consider as mid range set. I would like to find out if there is any recommendation for maybe entry level or I should go for this set?

My budget is around 1.5k. Thanks for your help.

HDMI

Dear Yamaha

I have a Yamaha YHT S401 and Philips 42PFL7406 Led TV with HDMI ARC and CEC.

I have this issue whereby if I switch on my TV from standby using the remote control, it will not automatically switch on my yamaha amplifier. Th tv will state as "Failed,tv speaker active"

HOwever, to resolve this issue, i would have to just switch off the tv using the tv switch and switch it on again, then it will detect the amplifier and switch it on automatically.

WHy is this so? Can a firmware update resolve this issue? Can yamaha engineers resolve this hdmi detection issue?

For a turntable to play records. Contrary to common thinking, the analogue sound from the record beats the digital sound from the CD hands-down.

Hi Robert,

Yes. Please refer below link.

RX-V671 / RX-V771

Retailing - RXV671 SGD$999 | RXV771 $1199

Cheers!

Hi bro,

Given your budget you could go for something like the MHT5712 or DHT471.

Key point is to know what features you would like to have. For instance, MHT5712 is bundle with RX-V571. For DHT-471, it is bundle with RX-V471 but using floorstanders. Check the links.

If you considering to get a lower budget bundles, check here and see the options.

I can't really tell which will suits you unless i understand your needs. Probably you could pm me your needs ya?

Cheers!

:)

Hi bro,

I guessed your situation is not due to Yamaha S401 HDMI issue. Likely is the HDMI CEC couldn't 100% work well with that particular Philips TV. No manufacturers HDMI CEC garantees your product will work well with each other brands, just like any other soundbars might not work well 100% with a Sony or Panasonic TV.

 Samsung - Anynet+
 Toshiba - CE-Link
 Panasonic - EZ-Sync
 Sony - Bravia Theater Sync
 LG - SimpleLink

Sorry i can't do anything to help your case further.

Hope you understand. Just some read-up about HDMI CEC here for your info.

Each manufacturer do it different way adopting different specs in HDMI.

Have a good day.

I am considering buying a soundbar. Lots on the market but the YHT400, YHT401 and YSP2200 may be good 'candidates'. Please advise me on the difference in the 3 products.
I will be using it for enhancing my music experience with my Samsung LED tv, my (yet to buy) bluray dvd player, and maybe ipod.
Most of the time I use the speakers for music. What's important to me is the music experience. My yamaha AV receiver has just broken and I am thinking of retiring my bose speakers for something as WIRELESS as possible without compromising too much on the sound quality.

YSP2200 HDMI cable setup

Dear Yamaha

I have a YSP2200 sound bar. Please advise on how i should link up using HDMI cables for my blu ray player and Starhub HD-box(without compromising on audio decoding). I would like to have audio coming out from my TV only while my soundbar is not turned on too.

And total how many HDMIs cables do i need to achieve the above.

Thank you.

Thanks. The RX-V671 model in Singapore and USA different - ie PHONO input not found in USA model. I like the RX-V671.

Is there an equivalent Aventage model with PHONO input, and the RRP?

Big fan of Yamaha audio products, loved them since the NS-1000M days

Hi!

You could have it easily setup with HDMI cables 2 inputs [Set-Top Box & BD Player] and 1 output from YSP to TV.

The key point is to turn-on HDMI Control so it could pass-thru the audio signals to TV when you turn-off the YSP.

But when you mentioned Audio-Decoding, HD Audio decoding can be achieve via YSP over HDMI interface from your source to YSP, but not to transmit into TV. In another words, when you turn-off the YSP, HD Audio decoding is no more active and only pass-thru 2ch PCM signal into TV instead of HD Audio into TV.

On the other hand, just to point-out your HD Set-Top Box might not be able to work correctly over HDMI to YSP. Hence, if you encounter this scenario, connect your HDMI to TV directly and use the Optical output from TV to YSP to achieve standard Dolby Digital signals as broadcast currently is still running on Dolby Digital only. Not Dolby TrueHD yet.

Hope this helps.

:)

Hi! No problem.

Yes. Yamaha has a factory in Malaysia and manufactured by Yamaha in Malaysia.

That is also applicable to our AV Receivers and some other products.

Cheers!

Hi,

In this case, look at RX-A810 then. A entry-level for AVENTAGE series.

Retail at $1499.

Cheers!
