Hi YamahaSG,

Sometime in Feb 2012 I asked which AV receiver had the PHONO inputs for my turntable. Due to budget constraints, I never bought the model you recommended ie RX-V671 / RX-V771 / RX-A810.

Now almost one year later, would there be a new model with PHONO inputs?

Thanks

Robert

Hi,

Purchased the YAS101 yesterday. Facing some issues with the "LEARN" mode. I'm pairing it with my LG magic remote. The power function works fine. But the Yamaha refuses to detect my vol up/down buttons.

Is there a solution?

Hi galliano, may I know how do you connect your 101 to tv or to stb? Do you use coaxial cable or rca cable to connect them? Thanks.

Connect direct to my 55LM6700 using the coaxial optical cable.

I retested again. Everything works fine (power, vol up/down)if I unpair the magic remote w the telly. But once I pair it w the tv, the vol up/down no longer works.

Suspect it's got smithing to do w the function of the magic remote as a pointer/mouse.

Has Yamaha tried its Learn function on LG Smart Tvs?

Yamaha RX-V373 & Sony BDP-S190

Hi,

I got the above 2 units for my new house & it is connected to a projector: Optoma HD23. When I want to play a bluray, there is no video signal from the AV receiver. However, there is audio but it is also intermittent with the signal constantly dropping and picking it up again. I have changed the HDMI cables, even the ports. I have an XBOX 360 which is connected with no problems with video and audio. I previously had a Philips bluray player which had the same problem and I went to buy this new Sony player which ALSO has this problem! I'm at my wits end. Can I get some help?

God Bless,

HI any idea where i can buy yamaha eph-100S earphone in singapore?

and how much is the price here ?

Hi stealthghost,

Firstly my apology in late response.

1. EPH-100 is retail at $179.
2. EPH-100 is available at following.
- DG Lifestyle Store
- Farle Innovation [Funan Centre]

Especially this model, we always run out-of-stock and i think currently you can try DG Lifestyle Store at 112 Katong. If you are lucky, you might still be able to purchase the last 2pcs there. If not, i would suggest you to place an order with DG Lifestyle Store outlets and they will inform you once stocks arrive.

Cheers!

Dear yamaha,

I intend to purchase a projector for my hall.
Is it possible to use the Sound Projector when it is mounted on the rear, i.e. on the side where the projector will be?

Reason is because i do not wish to run cable to the front.

Hi Tropicana,

Well, we don't recommend to do that way. If you are using Projector as a Visual display in the Hall, we recommend you to run a decent Home Theatre setup.

Cheers!

Appreciate if you can PM me the AV receivers available for a budget of about $700-$800. Thanks.

Hi Wryer,

You could consider RX-V473 or 573 at $799 and $849 respectively.
Key diff between both are 5.1ch or 7.1ch. The rest of features and specs may not give you a big difference.

Give it a thought.

Cheers!

Hi Yamaha,

I've purchase the rx373 and I can't seem to find the night mode function? Is there such a function for Yamaha receiver?

Hi Fre3dom85,

We had a mode called "Adaptive DRC", try turning it to On.

Cheers!

Hi Alex

I looked at the Yamaha site (Singapore) and found the following models:

A820
A810
RX-V671

My current Yamaha model is RX-V496 (bought many years ago) and everything is running on 5.1 HT.

The main reason for the upgrade would be the use of HDMI connects instead of the RCA inputs.

Would you be able to provide the prices of the 3 models listed?

Cheers

Hi Robert,

Thank you for your queries.

See following.
1. RX-A820 - $1499
2. RX-A810 - Discon
3. RX-V671 - Discon
4. RX-V673 - $1049

I would like to highlight some things for you to consider just in case.
a. In terms of power output, RX-V673 is the minimum you can consider to upgrade almost similar output power comparing to your RX-V496.

b. RX-V496 has Phono Input, in case you use Turntables, RX-A820 is the minimum you would need to support a Phono Input.

Cheers!

Does the RX-A820 support passthrough for devices like Blu-Ray, etc.

I mean, if I wanted to get the full HT experience I would (of course) switch on the receiver. Does it mean that at night, I can switch off the receiver and still watch Blu-Ray movies? Bear in mind the Blu-Ray player is connected to the A820 now (instead of a direct connection to the TV).

Also my TV and Blu-Ray is from Samsung. They have this thing called AnyNet+ CEC which allows full control of the Blu-Ray player from the TV. Is this supported?

Hi Robert,

All our AV Receivers supports HDMI Pass-Through function. Hence once you turn on this feature settings, you can power-off the AVR and the TV will automatically picks up the Audio playback from the AVR.

Anynet+ is HDMI CEC feature by manufacturer of Samsung. Yamaha don't name our CEC feature. But all Yamaha HDMI Products will supports CEC feature.

Take more read here.

Cheers!

Called a few dealers - they do not carry the A820 but have the A810. And both are the same price (they quoted the A810 as $1499).

Would you be able to PM a preferential dealer?
