Hi,

I am a newbie with soundbars and I am looking at the YHT-S401 and YSP-2200.. What kind of room or what kind of scenario you would use them?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I just bought a Home Theater Package YHT-299 3 months back. When I play my movies via HDMI ARC configuration, i.e. media player to Yamaha AV to TV (HDMI), the AV receiver will power off by itself after 2-3 hrs of continuous playing.

Is that a default time setting to power off the unit by itself? Or is it faulty unit?

Hi YamahaSG,

I bought YSP-4300 2 weeks ago. Now there is intermittent pop sound ("dat") coming out of the soundbar. The volume of the soundbar will decrease after the pop sound and volume will go back to normal. What could have gone wrong?

Any details on the above is appreciated.

Does Yamaha warranty covers WW? :s12::s12:

Hi joe,

All Yamaha products is not Worldwide Warranty. Yamaha encourage local support then worldwide warranty. So we encourage local sales then worldwide sales. All Yamaha companies does not provide worldwide sales and warranty.

YAS-103 is launching soon in Harvey Norman. Once details is firmed up, we will annouce it here too.

Cheers!

Hi Raider,

There is a "Sleep Mode" in this model. Can you check if "Sleep Mode" is turn on?
Download the owner's manual here and see page 63.

Also try turn off the HDMI Control and see if this happens.

Thanks!

Hi!

A soundbar basically replace a conventional 5.1 Home Theater System with just a bar. Modern house design is small and people loves simplicity to make their house looks great. TV is getting slimmer and slimmer where the audio is getting smaller and smaller. Hence, soundbar is a great solution to boost the TV sound and provides a 5.1 Surround experience with everything in a bar.

We don't really limit the rooms. We have customers who use it in living rooms, bedrooms, study rooms, entertainment rooms. Sound bar concept is for those who wants simplicity and some surround sound to replace the hassle of laying cables and wall mounting the surround speakers at home, compared to a 5.1ch Conventional Home Theater System.

So between a conventional 5.1 HT System vs a Soundbar, it is depends on your preference. At the end of the day, whichever product you buy must cater to your needs, that calls for value spent worthwhile.

Cheers!

Hi, I went to the showroom on that day but was told they do not carry ysp 4300. End up I went Harvey Norman Millenia Walk to get it.

The pop sound (static sound) will happen randomly.

Need help, 3D not working

Hi YamahaSG,

I have the YHT-S401 Integrated Receiver.
The specs states that it supports 3D but when i connect my PS3 with 3D blu ray to it, the display shows nothing. when i connect my PS3 direct to display, I can see the 3D.

Connection is correct and I tested with the same short HDMI cable because I can watch/play regular 1080p via the PS3 thru the receiver.

Please advise.
Is there a problem with the receiver's configuration?

Hi,

You may test this at any of our retailers. We have demo rooms in many places such as Vivocity Best Denki, Harvey Norman Funan, Courts Megastore, Best Denki Ngee Ann City, and Courts Ang Mo Kio.

We have remove demo unit of this model in Marina Square as we have space limitation. Hence, please consider some of the above locations mentioned to audition them.

Cheers!

Hi Tan,

We would appreciate if you could try to reset Video Output Settings.

Read the link here:
https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/262/~/ps3-hdmi-picture-problems

YHTS401 basically repeats the HDMI signal. If the source is unable to establish the HDMI handshake with S401 HDMI, the video will not go through also.

Let me know if you had tried so again.

Thanks!

Hi, thank you for the reply but i m out of town now, will try when i m back. Anyway i doubt it will work because the video settings should be correct since 2D images are working. That being said, i remembered i did tried to detect the ps3 video setting thru the s401 but it could not get 3D. The ps3 only detect 3D option when i connect direct to display instead of thru s401.

Hi Yamaha, can please recommend a 3.1 setup? Do I need an AV Receiver?

Essentially need to be able to:
1. Connect to (I) Tv, (II) set top box, (iii) blu ray player, (iv) turntable
2. Link up to Nas and stream videos
3. Switch from 3.1 to 2.1 at will (when listening to music)

Thanks!

Good Day Yamaha,

Just bought RX1030. Connecting my 5.1 system and another pair of speaker under zone 2 but in the same living room. Want to use them as 2.0 for music. Some questions and hope that you could help me :

1) I have blu ray player connected to AV1, PS4 to AV2, both HDMI cable. Can i use blu ray player to play CD but output is to zone 2 only? Can only achieve that using Turner/internet radio/ipad via usb.

2) Do i really need dedicate CD player for the above purpose for using zone 2 function?

3) Ways that i can connect my android phone wireless to 1030 and output via zone 2 for music?

Thanks

Hi Yamaha

Now there are talks of firmware upgrade for some of the AV receivers to support 4K@60p and also dolby atmos

So when to expect for the more expensive soundbars like the YSP-3300/4300 or may be some new models?

I'm waiting leh

Hi aeroplane,

3.1ch means you will need a AV Receiver.

1. All your sources can be connected with any models except for Turntable. So if you need Turntable to be hook up with AVR, you might need to consider only from RX-A830 onwards to RX-A3030. Meaning to say, RX-A830 / A1030 / A2030 / A3030.

2. All Network AV Receiver models are DLNA supported. Hence, NAS is never a issue so long as you are looking at those Network models. RX-A830 - A3030 are all Networked.

Video streaming to AVR is not possible for any brands in the market. But you could do this using your Network Blu-ray Player or Network TV.

3. Any AV Receiver can do this job between switching 2.1 or 3.1ch playback.

My recommendation is NS-F500 Floorstand Speaker + NS-C500 Center Speaker + Any AVR from RX-A830 onwards (Depend on your budget).

You may PM me your budget and we discuss more from there.

Cheers!
