Hi guys, recently (2 weeks ago) bought an Asus N55sl for my interior design course. Things were working rather fine till today, bought my laptop to school to download all the necessary software for course usage before school term starts.
Downloaded big size software/ programs like MS office, Adobe CS5 master collection, autocad etc...

Now, when i switch on my laptop, it takes a longer time to start up.
For example, the windows 7 icon loading part before you key in your pw, and also after you key in your password, bringing you to the start up/ desktop...
It's all lagging and slower..

Any possible solutions?

Unlikely, I have support Dell precision workstation laptop in my past IT project handling such programs.
Though programs like Adobe CS5 master collection and autocad are
demanding programs but this program does not slow down the boot time.

When user complain about slow boot time on Dell precision workstation, I just have to clear unnecessary startup items.

Ok, my laptop actually takes an exact 2 minute 01 ~ 10 sec from boot up to ready-to-use (means no more loading arrow)

Don't use msconfig to disable startup items. Use Autoruns. Logon tab.

I see stuff like Google Update, Adobe Updater, Cyberlink (all the cyberlink stuff, in fact, uninstall it since there are better players like Daum PotPlayer and VLC), AcroTray, Java Updater. All these not only disable, go ahead and delete their entries using Autoruns entirely.

There could be more to remove, but you screenshot the items without dragging to show the full names!

My system is kinda getting lagging and it got worse only after i installed the big programs like photoshop and autocad.. sigh.

i bought the K43S i5 during the last IT show.

it seems to have poor wifi connection as compared to the existing HP and Toshiba notebooks that i also use at home, all from the same location; which is about 8m away from the router.

the Asus can't connect to the wireless frequency at the said location until i move it to about 3m away from the router. even then, the signal strength is the poorest among the three notebooks at three bars.

is this a common problem among local users of the same Asus model?

Wow, worse than mine when I brought my Asus laptop.
Saw a few culprits, u can use ccleaner to clean unnecessay
entries.

switched on my laptop and it took only 1 minute 25 sec to boot up to desktop O_O
