Soft brick send in then come back with no wifi connectable. send in for wifi come back with crack sound on screen. send in and change a new back cover ( which has more scratch than mime ). a few day later station got crack sound when it's hold as normal.

Geez came from ericsson, motorola, samsung, ausu has the lowest level of quality control. The phone and station are beautiful designed ( no one would argue ) but the built quality is not to the standard.

ASUS PadFone Infinity can be compared with Miss World ( beautifully designed but no brain so as no built quality )

if u wanna swap from samsung, i say go for it. i swapped from samsung note 1.

to me it's great coz the battery life is better. it's also less bloated.

switch from note 2 to the npfi day 2...so far so gd...less bloated for sure...butterly smooth...very well constructed...while still trying to get use to it...

Yes I second that. Their QC for the PFI is very bad. It seems to only be a problem with the PFI, their routers, motherboards and others seem to perform very well.

My PFI has been to the service centre more than 4 times in less than 5 months too! That's almost once every month! All for various problems; some are major problems some are minor ones, but still, there are problems. Dont get me wrong it's a very decent and good phone/tablet, but it's not a "perfect" product like the Note 3, Nexus 4 or 7.

I think in their effort to rush out a product to compete with the likes of S4, G2 and Z1, they probably had made some concessions for the PFI which is why they came up with the nPFI so quickly after launching the PFI.

I've tried the nPFI and it's truly awesome. If you (kinda) love your PFI, you'd adore the nPFI for the faster speed, better launcher and cleaner UI.

I've already brought the difference in UI and Android between "new" and "old" PFI to ASUS and they said they are working on it. And also *they* (ASUS Regional Head of PadFone) promised on a unified 4.4 KitKat. But how soon? I guess next year Q1!

ASUS could not be as fast as the likes of Samsung in the software regard for smartphones. They promised 4.2 at launch of PFI. When 4.3 came out they promised 4.3. But now that 4.4 KitKat is out, we are still at 4.1.2.

Seems to me like they really cant be bothered much. But nonetheless I think once we've bought into the 2 in 1 idea, it's hard to bug out. But that being said, with a new launch another PadFone in June/July 2014, I would really choose my options carefully!

After using the npfi for about a week, would like to write something about it!

coming from samsung UI, s2>note>s3>note2>npfi, as ive nvr use the opfi b4, so im gonna briefly compare user exp with sammy n the npfi..so basically im down grading frm 5.5 inch to a 5 inch while still can bare with it n the 2 in 1 concept easily cover the shortfall, whenever u wan to switch to a bigger screen, pop into the pad station n ur done...downside is that u'll need to carry the pad station with u...

Then comes the UI thingy, even both still based on android, but it felt so different! it like im learning a new os all over again! Its near vanilla android, gives me many "wtf", "how to this" , "how to that moments!"...n at times i feel im beginning to miss samsung's UI.. while i didnt really find out how to transfer contents frm my note2 to the npfi, so i did it the cave man copy n paste thing..n went thru many pulling hair off session :s13:..n finally after 2 to 3 days of transfering data...4 days of actual usage below is wat i hve to say

Pros..
the built quality...it gives u a very premium feel. very nice to hold until even i bought sp n bumper case for it...ended up using it naked! cos i use it with the pad station very often.

Overall very snappy..tks to the SD 800 soc, as snappy as the note3 that ive played with b4 i decided on the npfi.

the 2 in 1 concept benefits me in many situation like when im stressing to read anything too tiny on the phone, i juz pop in the padstation n it charge my phone as well...

The cam, while im not an avid shooter, its capture much better than all those sammy phones ive used...

Cons...
The external phone speaker is very soft even at max vol...one of the worst compared to the sammies...when listening to music using my westone 4 or dba 2, theres a loud hiss on every song when it ends

samsung got kies to backup n sync....asus got anything similar?

no kit-kat yet.

pricey if buy local..

i not v sure if this is an android thing or a pfi thing.
can do web browser zoom using only 1 hand.

do a double tap. and on the second tap, just press and hold.

so it's tap tap hold

then can zoom in and out.
