nth wrong with paying. i just dun wanna pay for sth that i've nv tried before. and FYI i do pay for apps which i think are useful. -.-

There is a free version in the play store for you to try out.
1 month trial.

Download the tablet version though, don need the phone version.
So search for "swiftkey tablet"

And don tick it under Dynamic display list

So that when you use it on your phone, it is in phone mode,
then when you dock it, it will be launched in tablet mode

since its still under warranty, let them do it loh. any idea how long would it takes to repair? i think once repaired, i probably find dust cover or tape to cover the headphone jack and sim tray to prevent dusts from entering.:o

Not sure. I haven't sent mine in. Because no phone to borrow to use. And I scared they wipe my phone after repair.

Just sent my padfone in. The guy just took down whatever problem I faced and signed. Done. Approximately 5 working days. Wait for call.

Their standard timeline is 5 working days isit? Mine also took 5 working days but on 5th day I din receive any updates from them on the status. I called up and took them half a day to send me sms that my phone is ready for collection. No data wipe out though. Lucky for me.

A noob question to ask, can the docking station work individually or it requires the phone to be inserted before it can be operated?
Thanks!

It requires the phone..
Just remember that padfone is essentially a phone with a supercharged tablet-accessory

usually restart is due to memory issue.
I guess is either firmware or app problem.

Firmware:
the default Starhub firmware might be buggy and have memory leak

app:
There is an app that is badly coded which caused some memory issue and the phone restarts.

You have to find out yourself which is the cause.
Solution:

If (firmware issue)
firmware = (WW || TW); // reads assign/change firmware to WW or TW
// doesn't work in real code

if (app issue)
uninstall that app;

My of station doesn't respond when I insert the pf in. It will show an icon indicating pf not inserted correctly. Turns out the internal of the charging device on the pf was broken. That is why sm when I charge da pf it doesn't get charged or sm takes awfully long time to charge da device. BTW this isn't covered under warranty..

Can't really check for that..

But you can see each app eats up how much memory,
go to settings>apps>running

And if an app keeps crashing, then it is a signal.

If you don mind, you can remove all those non-popular apps first.
then slowly add them back 1 by 1..

(this is assuming that popular apps are coded properly)
