yea I have not upgraded my plan to the 4G plan, but the thing is I am only connected to the 2G network for most of the time..

bro, if you're already on 4G, your settings should be LTE/WDCMA/GSM/Auto

Anyone facing this problem? When running on LTE map cannot get a lock on position but running on 3G don't have such a problem. Anyway to fix this bug?

yeah, its a reported bug.

can't fix it until Asus fixes it in the firmware.

Temporary solution:
You can force your phone to be in 2g/3g only though. (WDCMA/GSM/Auto)
Do it when you need GPS locking.

I prefer that Asus jump straight to 5.0 ( wait for Google I/O)

IMO, the whole concept of the Padfone should be to offer best of both worlds in 1 device.

Ideally, I think it should be a smaller than 4.5/4.7" phone + larger than 9.7/10.1" tablet. Small enough to use as a phone and large enough for productivity.

By letting the phone grow close to phablet size, I think it has muddied the Padfone concept.

i agree. i think 4" is just right for 1 hand operation. they're just jumping on the 5" craze.

Might be getting this phone along with the docking station. Would appreciate if you guys can answer some of the queries that popped up in my mind.

1. Does apps which are sold/made for mobile phone work on the phone when it's docked in the docking station?
   
   
2. Continuing from the first question, does the Goggle play store identify the Padfone 2 as a mobile phone or tablet WHEN it's docked into the docking station?
   
   
3. Is the hardware easily damaged due to wear and tear from daily usage of sliding the phone in and out of the docking station? Example like scratches or the edge made on the phone or worse corner of the phone easily chipped off.
   
   
4. I heard there's problems with the wifi? Signal easily lost or weak?

   but such apps are few. ( if you try to open them when undocked, it will just force close)
   
   But keyboards are a different story. if you so happen to have swiftkey keyboard, you need the tablet version. It can work on both phone and docked.

A bit of a bummer on the keyboard since I purchased Swift Key for my phone guess I will have to fork out for the tablet version if I were to buy the padfone 2.

Heard that the padfone infinity will be released in April but alas the price tag is really

If you are not a pixel conscious person, then get the padfone2

i am waitinng for infinity. but interim, i'd like to get padfone2 le.

Well, it depends on your usage I guess? If you don't need the extra pixels on the phone and the Full HD tablet station, I don't really see a reason to get the PadFone Infinity. The PadFone 2 is a good enough phone by itself and there's little (to no) reason to justify the nearly half a K price difference for the hardware upgrade beside the panel. And I still think that a phone don't need a 1080p resolution, it's just unnecessary battery drainage. Well, that is just my opinion though

lol, looks like you haven quite grasp the idea of the padfone.

The tablet itself is like a dummy station with battery, larger screen and speakers.

So think of it as a docking monitor.

it doesn't have a processor or memory in it.

So do you think it can function without the phone?

it's not a phone and a tablet.. it's just a phone, that can project its display to a tablet size screen... and enjoy the extra batteries (plus front camera and speakers)

Anyone faced any issue of not able to receive incoming calls at all when you are in 3G/4G mode? Even if I switched off data plan, it is still the same. SMS-ing and outing call still possible.

This happens even when the signal is exceptionally strong (that means full bars).

It does not happen on 2G though.
