the cost savings is there, though for businesses may not be significant.

for buyers who need to buy fast or companies that do not buy through online, can consider from the shops. the retail model is also Titanium gold in colour. buying from shops also allows business to claim tax rebates, PIC etc and other forms easier.

Hope this helps. Btw is the Core I5 version or intel M3 version better for home use and basic programming? Last I read core m3 is more power efficient and has longer lasting battery?

Core M is sufficient (1.2Kg) for the usage and also better battery life.

do note that Core i5 variant is thicker and heavier (1.35kg), due to the need to fit in a spinning fan for i5.

for those who are keen, found following selling by AddOn @ Funan
ASUS UX305CA
Core m3-6Y30, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Windows 10, 2 Year Warranty
$1188 (UP $1298)

Good price. Local warranty. Although more expensive than buying overseas, you save on headache. You can consider the extra you pay as a premium for a fuss-free purchase experience.

Keen to get a UX305, but still cannot decide btwn UX305UA and UX305CA.
Will be using it for school (Standard office functions) and light gaming (Just DOTA2)

Did some research on battery performance and processor comparisons but still blur, would the power savings of UX305CA > CPU performance of UX305UA or vice versa?

And lastly, anyone heard anything about newer model Zenbook gna hit market in the next 3 mths?

IMHO, you can't compare core M and core i7, i5, i3. They are of different categories, for different purposes.

Agreed. I guess I'll check if the Core M provides significantly longer usage times for the same workload, if not... I'll probably go for i5.

Can't really find much information about the battery usage , only garnered that I can hit around 7-8 hours for CA, but not much info for UA. :slant:

For the i5 model, i am clocking 8 to 9 hours for normal web browsing, checking of emails and work processing

Any idea if this is gonna be cheaper during the IT show next week?

Looking to buy it there for cheaper deals and more freebies.

And can the base model of this ux305 play any light gaming such as LOL and DOtA2?

Same question as I had previously.
I spoke to the salespersons at a few shops... they suggested i5 model, medium settings can run. The M Core i really don't know..
