Hi guys.. How's this core M model compared to Asus x302LJ, be it i3 i5 or i7? or other cheaper i5 notebook? I can see that UX305 cost more than X302LJ.

Kinda outdated, been awhile since I buy a windows laptop. Have been using macbook.

The UX305 is lighter and sleeker.

Core iX model will always be more powerful, but the Core M has just enough power to tide you through most basic productivity tasks and in return, it gives you a much longer battery life.

So it's a trade-off basically.

I have been using a 1st gen intel core i5 for normal use (i.e. surf net, MS office applications, videos, youtubes) and photoshop. Working well for the past 5 years till today. Therefore, I believe the M processor should be way better than my 1st gen processor.

Search for Asus UX305 on Amazon ...
the i5 version with 265GB SSD and 8GB ram is going for USD749 ...
does not ship to SG

but if you are using ComGateway...
probably another USD100 would get it to your door step.

Total damage = USD849 for Asus UX305 i5 256GB SSD 8GB Ram ...
think its a fairly good deal

considering that the local set i5 comes with 128GB SSD and 4GB RAM ...
only local i7 set comes with 256GB SSD and 8GB RAM

Yup, just buy normal plug adapter, the transformer is the automatically switching type so it won't fry your laptop if you plug into the wall outlet here. You might want to invest a better quality plug adapter instead of those cheap $1 types.

Last I check it's $1698 locally. Don't think the price will drop. The first basic model is still going for $999.

Quick note...U Series i7 are dual core HT units....the same as i5, they just have more cache and are clocked slightly higher.

tldr: get the i5 version enough liao
