It depends on what you're looking for. A flagship, a midranger or an entry level?

I believe the the original Zenfone 2 is also EOL but is still a powerhouse with 4GB RAM outspeeding most current midrangers. But due to lack of updates, battery life is not that fantastic for heavy users and lasts at most 4 hours.

:eek::eek: FOUR HOURS?! That's sucky. :s22:

You need to take into consideration that this is more than a year old phone running on Android 5.0. And when I say 4 hours I mean screen ontime continuously with music streaming.

Don waste time waiting for zf2 6.0 update, their beta is full of bug. With Asus style, they wil take very long to resolve these bugs and launch offical 6.0.
Better to get another phone.

Any idea how to be chosen for beta? I nv sign up 4 anything but was given the opportunity to update. Now 6.0.1 make the phone quite hot and will perform thermal shutdown if i run game overnight. Previously on lollipop nv encounter on such thing...sigh

wth. So if the hardware is still in good condition, consumers are forced to "upgrade". It's such a great disadvantage to us...

Apple constantly releases the latest iOS updates, to "slow down" old hardware and force consumers to get new hardware.

Android simply halts the latest OS updates to "kill" the old hardware and force consumers to get new hardware.

checked. don't have. but if it is extremely buggy, then i prefer them to iron out those issues before rolling out. at the end of the day, i need a usable fone, not a fone with latest software/firmware but hardly work.

i updated it yesterday evening since came back earlier than expected. After 3 hrs of testing.... don't spot any bugs at all, wonders where the rumors of bugs came from. But battery life dropped a bit which i suspect might be due to re calibration of usage, need to monitor for a couple of days more...
