CKR9 and 10 mids are very boxy (or hollow) IMO, generally not my taste.

Similar sentiments. All 3 sounded quite off for me with the 7 being the most hollow and artificial, with the 10 being the least but still rather weird and unnatural. Fitting and built is not bad though.

The legendary ATHM-M50 now with detachable microphone mod!

Whats more can you ask from ATH-M50? They sound great, good clarity, deep bass and got the ambience. That's right a detachable microphone! :s8:

So before I even bought a mic, I have to make the cord detachable. Firstly I bought the 3.5mm stereo jack from sim lim tower, cost $0.50 and did some soldering. There are some guides here ATH-M50 Removable Cable Mod - Page 32

The cord is now gone :s12:

Next I have to test them to make sure the sound is right and left, lol. The microphone in this mod is VMODA boompro gaming, this mic is bendable, twist-able and has a good sound clarity which is important. Amazon.com: V-MODA BoomPro Gaming, VoIP Headset Headphone with Mic, Black: Electronics

Here it comes

Well now I just have to attach them together and my ATH-M50 has a detachable cord with microphone, how's that for a mod.:eek:;)

Actually the mic is on the left side.

The full glory =:p

Listened today CK100Pro. IMHO, overhyped IEM, with emphasized upper bass.
Big disappointment :(

Hi, bros. What do you think of ATH W1000X headphones? Does it sound good when pair with AT-HA21?

TIA.

May I ask; do you guys change the cable becoz its spoilt or do you change it to a better one for better sound ?

Hi there! The latest update that we have is that, IM series' replacement cables will be in by late June or early July. :)

If you like to stick with the sound that you have right now, you can just have the replacement stock cable but of course, you also have the option to explore to change or upgrade to other cable that usually requires more $$$. Sound wise, it will always be subjective and you have to consider the genre of songs that you're listening.

I would tend to agree with Team Stereo's suggestion as well. If you find that your current IM series IEM is not really lacking in any areas and you find it's current sound sig good enough, there's really no need to spend an additional 99 bucks just to upgrade to the 6N-OFC AT-HDC5 higher quality cable avail in stores atm. However as a current IM02 owner and based on one of Phile-web's review based on their assessment of the AT-HDC5 cables, it's clear that there is a noticeable improvement in terms of SQ when paired with the IM70/IM02/IM04 models line-up.

The connector jack plug at the other end of the AT-HDC5 cables are however made up of higher quality materials compared to the stock cable, it's crafted in metal (can't make out the material but it's likely to be made of shaved aluminium in terms of the L-shaped jack plug which seems to be used in alot of latest headphone accessories by many manufacturers these days as well).

Cable microphonics is probably abt the same as the stock cable according to my observation, but I haven't really gone back and used my stock cable on my IM02 ever since I switched to the HDC5's so perhaps Stereo may wanna further add-on some comments if they have additional findings on their side.

Hope my above input/feedback helps, cheers.

Bought IM-03 couple of weeks ago. Nice IEM for the price, very worth it. The earpiece is gigantic tho, not as comfortable as westone/shure/etc but meh 1hr is good enough for me
