yea its true, love the G.C!! in fact my relatives were keen to explore the opportunity of buying G.C. property but we realised there is limited upside due to overwhelming supply, just look at all the skyscrapers!

And rental yield is low too, since there's supply overhang..

I guess its a good buy only if u're looking to live there yourself.

Yes ur rite...lots of skyscraper there and lots of apts...cheap rent and cheap housing for sale too. I was quite surprised considering surfers paradise is a major tourist location. I guess they over supply the properties there

want to invest do it early...
seem like a same housing bubble in Japan and today's USA. don't buy a big house for half a million and then find it worth 50% less after 2yrs. not even sure if market would ever bounce back.

hi patryn..ur statement sounds rather contradicting.. i.e invest early in the bubble but find its bombed out 2 yrs from now? care to elaborate? haa.. but i think AU properties are good buys only in the capital cities.. once read an article that in 2040, AU's population will be 40mil as compared to 20mil+ now..

btw, any advice on taking a sgd-denominated loan for the low interest rates? no bank will lend to buy AU properties right.. but if i can take out a loan by putting some collateral, is it advisable? Apart from forex risk, is there any other thing that can cause it to bomb out?

If you're not any premier (Citigold, UOB Premier, HSBC Premier etc) customer, you probably can forget about it. Most banks won't entertain you.

Did U read with care?
I just quote an example from the USA. that dude in the example camp overnite to get his house. plenty of joes there (population 300M) buy into the idea of a good buy too.

2040 population 2 double? today they are controlling immigrants by tightening immigration law. how old is the article?
Capital cities are better 10yrs ago, where the flow is kinda drip or trickle.
today with skill migration prevalent the dream of owning a home, rich ppl are buying alot. for ppl wanting to buy do travel there drive around to check out whats its like. if U buying for investment don't blindly follow the flow thats all. understand what are U getting yourself into esp U thinking of getting some form of sgd-denominated loan.

up till now , still nobody shares ways to get australia PR? haha'
I think that we did. Anyway...

There are many roads up a mountain, but the view at the top is the same.

1. Go marry an aussie guy/gal.
2. General Skill Migration
3. Join and boat ppl and claim to be an asylum seeker (although it's a lame idea, it might just work)
4. Be a super rich investor.

i think the most feasible way is general skill migration program.

any idea is it easy for accountants to migrate over?

No idea! :)

Accountants with experience should be in demand. But still awaiting for the new in demand list to be finalized on 30th April, I think.
