For best performance always opt for wires.

Do take note also that 802.11AC works only on the 5GHz spectrum. Older devices might not support it.

On a side note, 802.11AC wave 2 is the newest revision. It uses MU-MIMO.

Ouch, that expensive, thanks for sharing. I can only use Aztech ones as I am constraint by the VLAN tagging for MIOTV

I hope the day comes where there is no vlan for Asus routers

There are ASUS routers that supports VLAN tagging. Besides as long as you are on a Singtel Fibre Bundle plan, it will need VLAN tag. Unless you are on the unlimited Fibre

If you are not on any of the fibre entertainment bundle, there is no need for you to use the VLAN tagging.

I am on fibre unlimited bundle. I was previously using the Asus AC66U, but I can only use only one of the port for my MIOTV. Only those modem bundled by Singtel than i can use the same port to share miotv and LAN. See my previous thread.

is 7003 good enough for 1Gbs ? I hit about 8xx to 900x for speedtest

Hmm.. I am getting around 800-900 mbps on a 3rd party router so i guess you're lucky? My 7003 didn't allow me to get at least 700

I just recontracted my Singtel Fibre Broadband to 1Gbps.

Getting FG7009GR(AC) as free upgrade over my current 7002 in 4 days time.

For those interested, the official installation, feature and user guide can be found at Singtel website

The 7002 does not support jumbo frame.

Does 7009 support jumbo frame? If it does, it's not printed on the guides.

thks for sharing. I notice the 7009 5Ghz wifi config is much more limited as compared to the 2.4Ghz wifi setting.

Mine at most 600... so much for a "gigabit" router. Does the 7009 have improved wireless range compared to the 7003? Or is it just faster when using LAN and wifi?
