Is it possible to enable or configure MAC filtering in 7002? I just cannot find the option.

In reply to a similar request, I have told chronos76 where to do it but he said it is not:

http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/n...ech-dsl7002grv-s-4449462-16.html#post84195516

If try to use a bit of creativity, can accomplish it.

Turn off DHCP.
Allocate IP address to allowed Mac addresses.
Configure the allocated IP addresses in the allowed devices.

Since want a whitelist and only allocated Mac address can connect, DHCP is no longer necessary.

Request for settings to enable bridge mode

I know this has been asked before but it appears there's no definitive answer yet.

Does simply disabling the DHCP equates to setting the router to bridge mode (without double NAT) in this instance?

Should I uncheck the NAT & Fullcone NAT checkboxes under Advanced Setup->WAN?

Also what should the following settings be (X = my current setup)?

X Enable Public IP Pass Through
Enable UPnP
X Enable IGMP Snooping
Standard Mode
X Blocking Mode

You meant you want to use it as an access point?

If so, just disable the DHCP will do. This router can work as AP but its not officially supported by Singtel.

Anyone facing any problems with 7002 router? If so, feel free to feedback.

Just to clarify that I am a Singtel technician. Just hoping to help out some HWZ folks. This is entirely my own capacity and has nothing to do with Singtel. It just happens that I know the folks in charge of router dept so I could try to replicate the issues in test lab and highlight to them.

I am also using 7002 at home. I believe it will benefit all of us.

Hey thanks for your reply.

Just to clarify, my setup is as follows:

ONT -> DSL7002 (192.168.1.254) -> Asus N56U (192.168.88.1)

- DSL7002 is connected to Mio Voice & MioTV
- Asus N56U is connected to NAS and home network (all 192.168.88.x)

Surprisingly internet works even though the two routers are on different subnets.

In this case, I'll probably need to set the DSL7002 to 192.168.88.254 (my home subnet) before disabling its DHCP right? I tried disabling DHCP when it's at 192.168.1.254 but my entire home network ended up not being able to access the internet.

If indeed this is the case, I should only need to do all the port forwarding in my Asus router right? 'Cause I am currently unable to access my home network resources externally.

P.S. Was on PACE 5012NV previously which I could simply enable "bridge mode" in order for my Asus to take care of routing while the PACE takes care of the MIO services.

Sorry, I have not tried it before, hence not sure if I can help.

But I don't think there is a bridge mode option in 7002

Btw, how about running N56 as bridge mode (as AP?)

Alright no worries just one other question: any issues if the DSL7002 is set to another local IP other than 192.168.1.254?

Yes, you can. Go to Home Network Configuration. Its under LAN Setup. You will see the IP Address: 192.168.1.254 and subnet: 255.255.255.0

Thats where you change the local IP.

Alright then, I'll change to 192.168.88.254 and turn off DHCP when I get home tonight and see what happens.

As mentioned earlier, I turned off DHCP when it was at 192.168.1.254 and my entire home network (192.168.88.x) got cut-off from the internet.

I'm just curious why does my home network on a different subnet (using DHCP from Asus) requires DHCP on DSL7002 to be turned on in order to get internet.

Thanks again Singtel_Sim for your kind assistance at your own time.

I have set up my asus rt68U the other way.

ONT-Asus-Aztech.

However once I disable DHCP, I cannot access 192.168.1.254 and no internet access but aztech can see that it is connected to few devices.

I even untag all eth0 in WAN page and set it to bridging mode.
But the singtel intenal rom inside aztech device will not let you access aztech.
In the end i throw this device in my storeroom.

for goodness sake, ask singtel or aztech to give a user friendly rom to let user use as a bridge.
Any modification to the advance tab, the router become a brick.

1) Configure your TL-WR740N IP address to be 192.168.1.xxx, the xxx being anything from 1 to 253.
2) Disable DHCP on the TL-WR740N
3) Connect to the LAN port of TL-WR740N (not WAN)
4) If required, configure TL-WR740N to be a wired Access Point.

This 7002 router is better than RT-AC56U.

Range are the same, but AC56U's 2.4Ghz are kinda slow.

One question: I have had my 7002 since last October, only for internet (no voice or mio TV), and experienced no problems. Since last week the 5G network suddenly "goes off" after about 10 - 20 MB download (photos). Each time I have to reboot the router to get it working again. The 7002 is currently running on firmware 1-010 which should be the latest version.

Any possible suggestion what causes this abrupt network shutdown?

Re-contracted & upgraded to 500Mbps (from 200Mbps) yesterday at Singtelshop and I opted out of this piece of junk. :vijayadmin:

Let me see if I could replicate the issue.

So what did you get?

From ST ? Nothing. It's free omission so they benefit ($-wise) from it :s13:

I'm only interested in the 200->500Mbps upgrade + 2mths free + $200 mobile discount + Mobile Broadband SIM card that are part of the bundle.

I've already moved away from consumer routers for quite a while as they are all very limited in capabilities. Currently using a MikroTik RB951G-2HnD and planning to get the 9-core Cloud Core Router later this month.

Should take it and then sell it. Can fetch $100 about same price as those RT-N56U from M1 can fetch. I bought a 7002 at $100 for standby backup (sort of full redundancy).

This is how I know customers connect to diff ACS URL, use different ACS Username and ACS Password after I swapped one for failing 2.4Ghz radio. The one I swapped from ComCentre connects to their support ACS URL which is not as stable as customers' ACS URL. So I fired up the backup and get the ACS URL to change. Then some time later, the ACS Username and Password was changed automatically to match the 7002 serial (similar to the backup and the one I swapped to them), probably by their backend. Otherwise was their support's login.
