Few years back, all the DIY shops dying. Nowadays see new shop open shop liao. Techdeals, VIP PC, Dynacore, Dynetcore, Batucore, until I see Best Value not mentioned much anymore liao.
Well according to 154, they were bff with makefine at funan since 2007.

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/new...-notice-of-funan-digitalife-mall-clos-8248194

CNA said:
Another shop owner, Mr Shawn Gong, 29, expressed dismay when he heard the news of the closure. He co-owns VII PC Trade, which has been at the fourth floor of the mall since 2007, with a friend.

"We have a lot of regulars, so if the shop closes, we'll lose customers, or we'll have to find a way to notify them of the move," Mr Gong said. He added that he was preparing to find a new shop location, but some other business owners like Mr Ways were vague about their plans for the three years that Funan would be shuttered. Many stated that they did not have time to plan before the news broke.

TRAFFIC DWINDLING
Human traffic at Funan had been dwindling in the past year, said Mr Teh and Mr Gong. Mr Teh said e-commerce "definitely had an impact" on his physical store's business, and that he had expanded online in September "out of necessity and survival".

"We are seeing traffic dropping since the second quarter of last year. There are too many malls around," he said.

Mr Gong attributed the drop in traffic to lukewarm economic sentiment. He said his store sold merchandise on third-party sites such as Lazada and Qoo10, but this did not help his business substantially.

"My main customers are still regulars who walk in, because for these IT products it's still better to go to the physical shop. Online customers only contribute a bit," he said. He added that his regulars were mostly students and other young people buying gaming equipment.

a shop pr points vs a carouseller pr is way different.
what you're saying is this shop cannot be trusted, since they do reserve the right to forfeit and cancel any sale even if its their mistake. regardless of an item that is discounted by $100 or $10, one should still always buy from other shop since it could be a pricing mistake, right

i never presume that the seller cannot be trusted...u put it on ur words.....dont anyhow point and say if u dont have any proof

last week, i bought a mobo from them and when i re-confirm if can come down to collect, they say can. came to shop, they say distributor haven't shipped yet. had to come again a couple of days later :s27:

u say u got bad experience with this shop but a week before u bought Mobo with them that also give u problem?

yeah. i'm just someone who wanted to upgrade from his OEM Acer of 6 years :(

since u are using AMD ryzen 5 ------>
why dont u used that system first and look other shop to buy replacement for ur old ACER..

haha, who came out this of selling lower than other shops and will tio boycott one? and complain to their organisation? what organisation and what will happen (will tio fine or closed shop?) sls merchant organisation?

Last time video pro gave so much discount coupon in q10 also got others come out say things like what you said but still their discount coupon continues for many weeks. I see they still in business leh. Where's your source of information regarding this boycott thingy? Am very curious who decides cannot undercut your competitors in price? Internationally, some countries protect their certain industries by disallowing importers to do such things (i.e. dumping) but among SLS diy shops? come on....

However I do agree that the shop can choose to honour or dishonour the sale lah, likewise TS can choose to shame them or not as well.

So lesson here is diam diam wait for item to arrive, if item arrive good. if not, means they discover the mistake and rectify it by claiming oos or whatever and cancel at their end.

oh my bad and maybe im wrong ...since that way then TS should learn from ur experience

Based on OP's issue and you yourself stating that no business is in for a loss making venture, any future item discount ($1 or $100) from this shop should be fully considered as a pricing mistake and buyers are better off buying from other shops.

That's where the loss of trust is. Not from fake/pirated goods but not able to trust their displayed prices. E.g. Flash sale, time sale etc. Are you gonna take the risk when there are competing products on offer? How would you presume or imply about this seller?

Now their actual word also got issues too apparently (no stock mobo issue). The number on Qoo10 should go to the shop right, not the mobile no of the boss who could be elsewhere.

the mobo experience was still tolerable to me. even though they could have properly checked first before confirming with me to come down. the gpu issue is something else.

as for my Acer, i will in time upgrade it to at least a current spec tier but it's not gonna be so soon since i already have my Ryzen 5 build.

TS has himself to blame

MSRP for STRIX 1050TI is $399
Got a good deal Whether mistake or not ), diam diam. HIgher chance of mistake being packed and sent out. Change the terms and ask to go to shop collect, means giving them a chance to double triple check

Those who have bought online before also know a certain shop mistakenly put WHITE Galax 1060 6gb at prices of BLACK Galax 1060 6gb then ship out.
Coz to the packer, it is the same product. Only difference is one EX word and whether the box is WHITE in colour. Packer most probably will not know
BUT if you call and get served by an experienced person, confirm will say wrong..
Same with STRIX and DUAL. You heng then packer give you 1050TI STRIX lo.... whether you return the wrong product is a different matter... :p

Not sure as to shops intention but from what i can see
Shop makes an offer to treat and displays on intermediary
Buyer signals his intention to accept the offer to the intermediary ( Buyer pays intermediary ( Qoo / Lazada / Amazonn / whatever ) )
Intermediary notifies shop that there is an interested buyer
Shop needs to accept buyer's intention.... <= Between Shop and Intermediary
Shop still can get a chance to pull out. It is within their rights. Buyer can get refunded. Nothing wrong

To determine seller's intention:
Buy from seller
Money is with qoo anyway.
Wait for a while
If never fulfill, Qoo refunds

One month later, if ad still there ( Cannot take 1 month to repair ad right?? ), then we can have a better understanding as to seller's intentions..

Advice from those aiming to get a good bargain.
IF IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THERE IS A CHANCE IT MAY NOT BE
Always take it with a grain of salt
If it gets fulfilled, it is a bonus
If never get fulfilled, at least you are mentally prepared.

Singapore courts have already given leeway for honest mistakes.
We should too unless it can be proven beyond reasonable doubt, that seller has other intentions..

that is why i am curious about TS bought it online and make his way to SLS to take part personally instead of waiting for them to ship the item

1.buy online got discount and price is lower
2.TS cannot wait for them to ship and all the way go to their shop because know if buy directly cannot bargain price and also cannot get discount
3.when the shop find out price is too low and reject he post it here coz he spend his time going there instead of waiting to be shipped

MSRP is $399 but after the mining craze, it shot up. Seller listed at $328. C'mon how much more is seller actually 'losing'? it's more like they also wanna be on the bandwagon to earn due to the market.

and how hard is it to change the price or to take down the post completely on qoo10 if this was really a big issue on their part?

bought it online because of qoo10 coupons to further the price down. is that what everyone else is doing? getting good deals to save from the consumer's point? and yes i also used my CC to offset with points. but to my understanding, seller will still get the original amount right? it just happens that i was at SLS because i wanted to buy other parts for my build.

Do note Qoo10's seller fee for "good seller" tier is 9% for $200 to <$500 item.

If the seller lists at $328, their takehome amount is $300.10.
Don't think consumer products like this have that much margin if the SRP is $399.

And if you looked at Vii PC's seller grade, they have been downgraded from power seller to good seller many times which is reviewed on a monthly basis. Indicating settlement issues with buyer or didn't hit sales target in QSM which is not likely.

Usually for shipping in Qoo10, you need to pay a little bit more as compare to self collect which are usually free. So you actually paid for that shipping cost, then want to self collect since you are near by??

While this is true, I suspect the stores in general also marked up quite a lot as a result of the mining craze.

yes it was $4.99. but for me, it's not like 'ooh, i paid for shipping, better not waste that $4.99.' it was just the moment whereby i was there. i did call them to ask if it was okay. if they said no, that's another story. i was weighing up the fact that i either wait for it or try to get it so i could fix up my build during the weekends.

Back in Sept last year, i ordered a Kraken X52 AIO from Vii's Qoo10 listing, money deducted from my PayPal with instructions to self-collect. At that time, TD had no stock for Kraken AIOs, so did a lot of SLS shops and i needed one urgently

Lo and behold, i went down and guess what? They no stock for said item.

Was quite pissed, because its $200+ gone from my Paypal. Got even more pissed when they insisted i cancel the order from my end.

Got my money back in the end, but learnt my lesson to avoid this shop's online listings like the plague :s22:
