I can get it for under $50. Is it too good to be true? Will it prove to be better than my Sony XM5?

I am using Bose QuietComfort II headphones and have been for 7 years.
In between changed 3 times the headband and ear cushions -- quite easy.

The ANC is very good and on par with Sony flagship headphone.
But it's aging. The left hinge a bit loose.

Thanks for your article, after reading it, I will consider buy one to use.

This is essentially the first review ever for this model. These headphones appeared on Aliexpress about two weeks ago at around 55usd.
we paid lesser from sg
This is a review of the first and final 2 hours I will ever use them. I have owned two pairs of 1More Sonoflows ever since they came out and been wearing them about 10 hours a day ever since. My initial goal was to replace these with something better, clearly they were targeting Sonoflow owners in their marketing. I will be returning them, thankfully the order was through Aliexpress Choice.
1More Sonoflows costs double and has poorer specs. where is it made again? i stopped buying from amazon many years ago
In the renders it looked like the outer cups where the buttons are may have been anodized aluminium but turned out to be plastic.
why do you want anodized aluminium? that's a typical angmo asking for irrelevant features that cost more yet contribute nothing to performance
The hinge stem thingy is metal and there are springs to allow some side to side movement. They are very comfortable.
the hinge stem is made of plastic
All the buttons are poorly placed in my opinion and you need to grab the cap solidly as the buttons are that stiff.
unimportant
The ear cups are removable but the clips are so stiff you might tear the ear pads digging your fingernails behind them. The only way to access screws is to remove the side covers and good luck with that, I hot glued a meshed PCI-C bracket blank to the cover and pulled on either ends, I bent the bracket out of shape before the cover popped off so. There is no gap for a pry tool and anything metal will destroy the aesthetics'. At least they are not glued but, don't even think you are going to change the battery down the line these are disposable.
user opened up a brand new headphone to discover ANC microphone location & chip id. shouldn't be complaining about it's difficulty since it wasn't designed to be opened up
One thing I noticed is the ANC mics are placed very low and your clothes or hair touching near them will make a feedback way louder than it does on the Sonoflows which can be a pain point.
long hair spotted. is it a she?
Unlike the Sonoflows the sound signature does not improve when ANC is on.
background noise was nearly erased for me. that's the purpose right?
Transparency mode is pretty bad.
transparency as in ambient mode? that's how it works in military headsets. i have a sordin supreme pro-x. ugreen studio pro works just as well, is lighter, has bluetooth but is visually bulkier than my military headphone, which is very compact and can be worn under a molded ballistic helmet
One nice thing is you can adjust the voice prompt volume or make it jingles, it allows you to have a barely audible volume so you can likely fall asleep with these without having PTSD.

The chip in the headphones is not capable of BT 6 despite clearly being marketed as such everywhere which would have been possible with chips such as the Airoha AB1595. Sadly it is a JielLi 7083F from 2023, only supporting up to BT 5.4, no inference augmented ANC, only 5 microphones.
this is true
There is electronics built-in for touch sensing on the right earcup but it is not implemented in software.

To their credit, they actually have a tweeter and woofer architecture. But the thing is, the lower mids sound section is out of whack, kind of wish I would have a miniDSP Ears to show my point. The choice of speakers is bad and the DSP was not tuned for the low-pass filter on the tweeter. The 12mm tweeter cannot do the lower mids well within the physical enveloppe nor is the woven fabric 40mm woofer.
audiophile spotted
Lots of software bugs. I couldn't turn them off in any way after enabling dual connection. They keep reconnecting to devices after you terminate the connection manually, super annoying.
that's false. maybe she's on an older firmware. i updated the firmware after unboxing
No EQ in app and profiles are exaggerated.
there's EQ in app. no idea what she meant by exaggeration
To finish, these are still not FCC or ISED certified as I am writing this yet they are being sold to Canadian and US buyers, cannot say for others.
FCC (usa) and ISED (canada) certification will only make things more expensive. i want a good and cheap headphone full stop

i compared it with my kid's new sony xm5. i could not distinguish any sound quality differences. if this ugreen was cheap and lousy, i won't start this thread
It is probably good for its price lar.. while you cannot distinguish any sound quality differences, I doubt they are of the same level of sound quality though. That would be a loud slap across all the known brand wireless headphones costing 5 to 6 times over.
