Just created from internet banking.

Seriously .. nothing on their website on instructions on how to do this!

And which app to use on the mobile?

Memo on transfer restrictions already in place and sent to all consumer but no info at all!

Geez.. the team/person rolling this out really cant think / not capable liao.

See post just above yours for the link to the app in itunes.

Yes it does, I just tried it out. But I donno how to log in. It seems to use the mobile number instead of the userid on the website but keeps saying "wrong mobile number"

Just a reminder, you need to go to internet banking (website version) and activate the mobile banking service, which will ask you to set user id and password for mobile banking.

If you want login using sms otp instead of token, need to go bank to set up sms otp.

Thanks Trazora, I'll check it out.

For SMS OTP, I have already set it up for use with the website internet banking. I don't have to do that again for mobile banking right?

I believe both mobile banking and SMS otp are still in their pilot test period. That's why they never advertise on their website or WeChat channel. Wait for a few months, they will launch it properly. Which also explains the branch staff say not launched yet.

actually, I find the mobile apps more user friendly than the IB on web. :D

note they split the daily transfer limit to 30k for IB and 20k for mobile apps

I was going to transfer some cash by FAST to another local bank in Singapore, but realised that it seems I can't add any of the local banks as Payee. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Using iBanking -> Transfer -> Payee Management

Using iBanking -> Transfer -> Payee Management

Under Payee Management, click on add payee under the "Frequent Payees for Domestic Transfer". The local banks should be in the list.

Ah, just tried that, and this is the error message I get:

"The service is not available for the safety tool: OB050"

EDIT: Called them and figured out why. You can only Add New Payees when you login with your E-Token. Using SMS OTP to login will result in the above error. Same goes for mobile banking. Been spoiled by the more seamless local bank iBanking UIs so now BOC's appears rather primitive :o

That is where they failed.

If it is not launched yet, why limit the internet banking FAST transfer from 50K to 30K?

I was almost jumped out of my chair when trying to make some transfer thought someone hacked into my account and transfer some $$ out!

I see some messages here about people having to go down to the branch to get SMS OTP running for their iBanking and Mobile Banking App? I was able to do this all remotely from my computer, can't quite recall the steps though :o

Oic. For your info, if you want to do FAST via the app, you also need the token.

Yeah, that appears to be the case. The CSO said they have just upgraded their system and currently it only allows you to add Payee via the E-Token method. And it has to be the 'new' E-Token at that :s22:

Hi,

I plan to move my POSB salary account to BOC Smart Saver after 10 yrs....
Did considered other Banks promotion and so far BOC offers better benefits
My salary is 2k and 10k fresh fund.

I believe I can commit $500.00 using debit card as well as make 3 transactions.

How is the iBanking? Heard the support is poor (some doesn't support Chrome, have to use IE?).

If making online purchase, the authentication is by code sent to phone?

Can use ibanking on chrome. There is also BOC mobile banking, much better user interface and can fulfil most of the ibanking functions. If making online purchase, 2nd factor authentication (if any) is by code sent to phone.

I see you have decided on BOC :)

The iBanking is in my view, inferior to say DBS or OCBC but you don't really need to do much iBanking on it. All you need to do is to transfer out your salary every month and do your real banking on DBS if you need to. In any case, BOC iBanking can handle bill payments and funds transfers quite okay, although I think there's no scheduled transfers like DBS or OCBC, so you win some you lose some.

Yes, you are right.
Basically I just need to login once a month for making 3 transactions and making fund transfer back to DBS bank. Then use debit card to make $500 purchase (bills, groceries, etc).

Im planning to go their branch this Saturday to open the account. Do they open on saturday too? just in case. :p Is their CS English Speaker?

Check this page to make sure the branch i sopen at the time you are going.

http://www.bankofchina.com/SG/aboutus/ab2/201309/t20130912_2471185.html

And yes, they speak good English. I find the process very smooth and fast unlike other banks I've tried opening. They are very efficient. You are done in about 30 minutes. And there aren't even much customers so you don't even have to wait long.

Do check out their credit cards as well - sometimes you get a nice promotion going on. I was offered a "Spend $100 get $80 cashback promotion" so I signed up for their cards on the spot too.
