Moving to UOB one account and card wef 3 Dec 2018. Not giving boc any chance. After rebates are in, i will just spend the rebates and close the card account

1. Assume no AF to be paid for the BOC Family card.

2. UOB One credit card rebate is 3.33%. BOC Family card would give 0.3% if only meeting the S$500 threshold.

3. But, UOB One account gives max of 2.436% bank account interest if you keep exactly S$75K. At S$60K, it is lower at 2.075%. With BOC, it is currently 2.75% up to S$60K.

How is the UOB combination superior to BOC even if counting only 0.3% cash rebate on S$500 spend on a BOC credit card?

For actualized card rebate , I’m not sure with the changes if it’s worst off.

But, getting 2 category at $55 would be a net spend of $1250. So spending $250 more on selected merchant category or other BOC cards can qualify for 1.6% for smarsaver.

I think it’s still alright

1) Its in the spending habits. There are months i spent $3k on BOC family card but get only $50-ish rebates. UOB one card rebates are less restrictive/ less categories to monitor (i got better things to do than to watch how much i have spent in each category).

2) I dun like the way they charge annual fees.

3) i can maintain balance at $75k, not just $60k. The interest gap is thus smaller. One month interest difference (prorated on $60k for UOB) is around $35 - i can get around this amount back from increased credit card rebate ($100/mth for UOB vs $60-70ish/mth from BOC).

The differences in rebates/interests is really not significant enough for me to pay the annual fees.

Interest rate much better than uob one

But w the new Nerf coming, hard to justify the card spending

UOB One is much better with assumption you have S$75k as your balance.

If we are looking at just S$60k, BOC is still better.

only if you spend a lot with qoo10

Sorry i meant using the boc qoo10 card for cardup, can it recover the cardup charges, although it is paid in qmoney? Seem to recall for this year still the rates for qoo10 rebates are more.

So far my Citibank ones is giving my zero interest and I've been stupidly putting about 20k with them. Sitting down doing nothing. Ocbc is the best for me so far tho

how it can be better:
uob one saving average for $75k is only 2.43% interest
uob one cc for $500 or $1000 monthly only give 3.33% rebate
