Hi, can anybody confirm whether spend by the supplementary card qualifies for the $500 requirement for SmartSaver Card Spend Bonus?

For example, in a calendar month, can I spend $500 all by the supplementary card to get the Card Spend Bonus?

I found the following TnC clause on BOC website, which seems a Yes to my question. But the other day when I asked the staff at a BOC branch, she said No.

seems the only way to confirm is to test ourselves.
Anybody has confirmed this? Thanks.

4.1 Card Spend Bonus Interest

4.1.1 An Account Holder must successfully charge at least the required minimum amount in all retail transactions, aggregated from any of his/her qualifying BOC Debit Cards and/or Credit Cards in the relevant month, where the Account Holder is the principal cardmember and the MCS Account main account holder. Transactions charged by a supplementary cardmember will be aggregated and consolidated with the transactions
charged under the principal Card Account.

Best is boc family card.

family card is only for rebate?

if i only intend to use bare mininum of $500 each month, a year is $6000, my max rebate is only (say average of 2%) $120...

is the rebate able to offset credit card bill? or have to accumulate to fix $50 (like some stupid ANZ card) then can offset?

wondering if i should take the travel card for 2 lounge access which i will surely make use of it.

Using BOC family card you can get 7% rebate for dining, and 5% rebate for supermarket, nets flashpay ATU, POPULAR Bookstore, Toys ‘R’ Us, Unity Pharmacy and Watsons in Singapore....Rebate of 2% for "other" spend on Supp card. Need min $500 monthly spend. Rebate gets credited to offset the spending a couple of days after statement date. Average much better than 2%.

so the rebate is auto off set one?

"You have the option to upgrade to the new BOC Family Card that comes with the NETS FlashPay facility at a small fee."

what is this small fee and how much is that? (Citi SMRT card and most other SMRT credit card have no more processing fee for auto topup)

What u quoted does not apply for new card application, it is fees for changing old family card to new one.Free to apply for new card.

25 cents to auto top up normal flashpay card. 5% rebate from $50 top up less 25 cents is 4.5% rebate, better than 1.7%-2% from citi smrt.

4.3 Payment Bonus Interest

An Account Holder is eligible for Payment Bonus Interest when he/she fulfils either one of the following requirements within the calendar month.

4.3.1 Bill Payment – successfully perform three (3) bill payments from his/her MCS Account via BOC Online Banking or via GIRO payment OR

The fastest is to make 3 bill payments( at least for July) thru ibanking.
GIRO will take time............
