GIRO or bill payment via ibanking from BOC smartsaver account count towards the 3 unique bill payment for the 0.6% bonus interest.

GIRO from BOC smartsaver account isn't charged vis Mastercard and don't count towards 500 card spend.

But if can charge to Mastercard debit card for recurring bill payment (eg using authorisation form), it will count towards 500 card spend.

Thanks for the clarification!

No complimentary stuff. I suppose the card you linked is the debit card, no problem with that. Can also use credit card to clock to card spend interest and get rebate at the same time.

Thank you Trazora. Just a quick question though. I have two mobile accounts under Singtel. Does that count as two separate online payments? Since we need 3 bill payments either GIRO or online payments through BOC internet banking to get the 0.6%.

If 2 different set of bill reference numbers they are 2 separate bill payments.

Want to ask, can I use debit card (MasterCard) to topup my ezlink card at MRT stations? When I used my card the system says "not approved".

I was thinking this would allow me to count towards the card spent.

Correct. But next year cards from other banks can use.

Let me check, suppose I use the ezlink reload whereby I authorize a certain amount to be topped up when my ezlink card value gets lower, will this be counted as card spent? Understand that there is $0.25 per top up.

9. What are transactions that do not qualify for Bonus Interests for Card Spend?

These transactions do not qualify for this bonus:

Cash withdrawal
Fees or charges
Funds transfer or Cash advance
Transactions on BOC Cards that are terminated or unsuccessful
The unposted amounts under Installment Payment Plan (“IPP”) and Flexi-Balance transactions
Any amount charged to your BOC Debit or Credit Cards that is subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed.

Ezreload should count towards the $500 card spending. But if nets flashpay also ok, better to use family credit card for the flashpay atu to get higher rebate. Can also use family card for dining, groceries and selected merchants.

Only dbs/posb cards and citibank smrt card (but not other citibank cards) have the fees waived

I think it's ezlink that's imposing the $0.25 charges for the topup. Well I will arrange for once a month topup so just pay for the convenience.

You can have the same convenience using say using citibank smrt card, convenience fees waived and on top of that get 1.7 to 2% rebate in SMRT$.

If you using BOC to filfill card spend for smartsaver, should use boc family for auto top up of flashpay card instead, as mentioned in my earlier post. Same conveience and effectively higher rebate after deducting the conveience fee.

Hi, just wanted to clarify.

When i opened my BOC account in Aug 2016, the person who attended to me said AXS txns does not qualify for the $500 minimum spend for the debit card. But I told him it's not stated in T&C saying that AXS txns does not qualify. He told me although it's not stated in T&C, it really DOES NOT qualify.

Nonetheless, i wanted to test the system, so i paid for my car loan (more than $500) on AXS Online E-Station on 28/08/2016 using the BOC mastercard debit card. Unfortunately, the txn was only posted on 01/09/2016, (which means I will miss out the bonus interest for debit card spend for Aug 2016).

So today i called BOC hotline to double confirm with regards to AXS txn. The lady CSO from BOC hotline said AXS Machine payment does not qualify, but AXS Online E-Station qualifies.

Can anyone with experience of trying to hit $500 minimum spend criteria with AXS txns confirm this? Thank you in advance!

Lol, I don't even think boc cards can use to pay on AXS machine. Anyway, why not just see for yourself next month. Confirm this confirm that then next time nothing to confirm already. I can only tell you no one here complain cannot.

if you have argued with the bank really hard, then they would really have removed axs from the list of qualified txns :)

So it's a good thing that i did not argue hard. I hope they really give me the max 3.55% interest next month :)
