Gonna close this account. It has the worst maintainability. If not for its original high interest, would not tolerate the nonsense
1. Mismatched credit card spending vs rebate minimum ($500 for interest, $800 for proper revates)
2. Erratic posting date causing missed interest - transaction is posted on 6th day versus similar transaction taking only 2 days on UOB. And sometimes it gets posted earlier than expected.
I sort of emphatise, the bookkeeping date is really dependent on the bank. Sometimes 2 days, weirdly sometimes 1 week or more. Are there other better alternatives though? Both your points seem manageable.
1. Can just do $500 then? Rebates $800 is common right
2. Might be harder to manage but maybe try spending earlier if you don’t hit?

For point 2, because BOC always post late, I tried a purchase on 28th expecting it will get posted on 1st to help in next month expense. Then it get posted on 30th which is the last day of the month.
Then I got another large purchase done on 25th expecting it to post no later than 3 days as it is the only last purchase to meet the spend target. Then BOC post it on the 1st.
Getting screwed twice is enough for me
