If I guess correctly, Amituofo is in written there. In this case, if you get it, you can place it at the altar or the highest level of the shelf. If you just want as decorative item, then buy the one without Amituofo.

Passby the shop. Good mood when i see the laughing buddha smiling. Laughing buddha can only put at the living room, right?

Chanting monk make me feel calm and peaceful. But it has Amituofo words on it.

But laughing buddha dont have the words Amituofo

I'm moving to my new house soon but never do any rites yet (only roll pineapple. spray salt/rice. throw coin)

Buddha have give ratio hand grab sand on floor these are humans, the rest on floor (earth) are them.....
means is every where, fill up your whole house. but you can't see or feel them.

those you meet which will be related to you.
just like your family, so many humans why only your f/m/b/s n children live with you.
yes you need specialist, not to kill them, as video say can be any of pass f/m/b/s or enemy, so find out the problem and way to resolve.

simple and easy way om mani padme hum ( these are six powerful words). day and night. even you are busy,take bus,mrt, try to keep up non stop. or can try play mp3 , even you sleep just put beside you at low volume.
other also can, actually all are same same equally powerful.

offer smoke and water and food everyday. inside/outsie house, work place, any place.....
stop killing but pray om mani padme hum to ant,mosquitos,cockroach and others.....
when you do all these correctly you find all clear and gone
one more thing be a vegetarian.

地藏经 chapter 6. Past live or generation parents, brother, sisters or relatives. They are very 苦。Trying to ask for your help.

While you are consulting professional for help. I would suggest that you read the great compassion mantra 大悲咒 and 回向 to your 历代祖先亲戚兄弟姐妹。

How many minutes does it take to read 大悲咒 once ? English words. 3 times ?

You have nothing to lose.

Keyword is to 回向。

Hope such problem are resolved long before lunar 7th month.

I see that there's someone new who wants to do Sur Offering.
So I am going to share what I shared previously for your convenience.

It is just how I do it, not sure if it is the best way.
Just sharing so you can take reference.

Do make sure that if you are planning to do it nightly, you must say in your prayer if you suddenly need to stop. If you doing it irregularly (once in a while and not routinely), no need to say such things.
The reason being is if you arrange to meet your friend at 5 pm but end up you no show, your friend will be angry right?

Same thing. If you built up expectation and doing it every day if you for some reason need to stop, try to say it in your prayer

Please help me check if I got it correctly in accordance with the video.

# 1 Generate Compassion within yourself. (most important)

Know that all beings are suffering, regardless of what worldly possessions they may have or whatever state they come in. All beings, all beings in all of the six realms are prone to suffering, just like you and I. Generate compassion for the suffering of others and see the commonality between us all.


#2 Burn the Sur Offering

#3 Om Ah Hum X3 times

#4 NAMA SARVA TAHTAGATA AVALOKITE OM SAMBHARA SAMBHARA HUM (x7)

if this is too difficult, the monk says that you can simplify the mantra to:
“OM SAM-BHA-RA SAM-BHA-RA HUM” (x7)

Note: In some versions, step #3 and #4 is recited together:

“oṃ āh hūṃ | namaḥ sarva tathāgata avalokite | oṃ sambhara sambhara hūṃ.”

#5 Mantra of your choice to bless them towards walking towards the Buddha Path. Example: Om Mani Padme Hum X7 to 108 times

#6 Dedication of Merits

供养一切佛，供养一切法，供养一切僧，供养所有护法善神，加持甘露
布施六道有情，回向父母祖先，回向冤亲债主
离苦得乐, 同成佛道

唵啊吽　唵啊吽　唵啊吽

#6's prayer is basically paying respect firstly to the Buddha, to the Dharma, and then the Sangha. Paying Homage to the Triple Jem, then paying homage to all Dharma-protectors. Asking both the Triple Gem and the Dharma Protectors to kindly bless the offerings, so that the Pretas and Spirits may be able to receive them. Then dedication of merit （回响） to your parents, ancestors, and karmic creditors. You are NOT praying to the Pretas, you are NOT praying to the spirits.

Hai Tao Shifu (the monk) has emphasized that step #1 to be the most important

Also, take note that some monks in Singapore won't recommend the practice of Sur Offering.
Buddhism has many 法门, do what is best for you, don't have to do everything.
If you have the good fortune of personally knowing a monk, you should ask them for their advice.

Hai Tao Fa Shi explained the purpose of Sur Offering and the importance of generating metta and compassion for it.

He stressed that it is the compassion and the heart that is important, more important than the mantra and the procedure of doing it.

He also mentioned that if you do NOT have the compassionate heart to do it, it is best not to do it because if you don't have 慈悲心, you might end up aggravating the spirits instead of helping them.

Compassion and empathy for them is the most important.

They may move out as more people move in, the yang getting stronger with more people and the place lit up with bright lights at night. For the time being, leave the lights on lor... If your curtain is up, don't draw them for the time being. Play the 阿弥陀佛 chant even when you still not moved in yet. 法布施 is the best. Help them accumulate some merits, they will be grateful to you.

Actually, they also poor thing ... it used to be their residence, then people moved in without helping them find a place. Hopefully, they come to terms with the fact that it's now a housing area for people and they can move on.

There are stories of old people living in condos and their place is enblock. These old people don't have much savings and they also have to move out unwillingly. They forced to move to smaller places, more expensive and inconvenient. Poor thing, right ? I worry one day, I get forced out of my house for whatever reason... who knows ? So 阿弥陀佛 lor...

BTO should be new flat. How come "occupied" before owner moved in ?

Unlike what I learned from 净空法师 video. Usually is 亲情 and 财产 is the reason for not leaving.

Hope I can hear from other Shi Xiong.
