i havent found a single video on youtbe where the 3090 holds up to 5070TI/9070XTBecause it is a XX90 card. Unlike XX80 and XX70, these cards will drop like flies. AMD cards, don't even need to consider. Just get new cards for AMD.
It can't. Unless you need the 24GB vram.i havent found a single video on youtbe where the 3090 holds up to 5070TI/9070XT
Btw TS whats ur current cpu and PSU?
nah I need the 24g ram.would rather u get the new gen midrange cards rather than an old 3090 which i beo over carousell prices are still pretty shocking at 1.1k+

Are u changing ur cpu psu too?ryzen 5 3600 and 650w
unfortunately 9070xt doesn't support AI generation... tensor and alljust get a 9070xt
AI generation. Should be ok. AI mainly dependent on vram. That's why I'm getting an old card. Are u changing ur cpu psu too?
Not too sure what you are using that will need 24gb of vram but i think ur cpu isnt gonna cut it either
haha if you were the seller I would be 100% assured.hmm. just my opinion. changing new GPU is a good thing if you have what it takes.
I will do some basic checks and research before getting.
Requirement before purchasing a GPU.
1) Make sure the bottleneck is not on CPU, rams or PSU (IMPORTANT : GPU cable compatibility)
2) Make sure to have a monitor which cater what the GPU can offer. no point buying a good GPU but yet can't utilized fully.
3) When buying a 2nd GPU, do some self due diligence
Purchasing 2nd Hand GPU
I will do sit into buyer's shoe as GPU is not cheap. This is what I will do as a seller.
Though not every seller will do this but for me, to safeguard both buyer and seller, I think the above is practical.
- I will only sell GPU that has at least a year warranty left
- Take tons of pictures to show buyer the condition of the GPU.
- Record a vid running 3D Mark timespy, showing live thermal. Including GPU-Z (Must show Date time stamp taken)
- Post 1. to 3. on Carousell
- Once buyer intrested, either he buys the card or if still sceptic, I will do 6.
- Invite buyer and show him live demo. Do 3D Mark timespy, show GPU-Z stats. At the meantime when illustrating, with Buyer's permission, I will record a video on the whole process. If buyer don't want to record face, I will ask him questions for him to agree verbally, which is recorded in this video
- Once ok, pack, show him official reciept, give him info where the service center is at (for RMA) and sell (Money transfer on the spot)
- Explain to buyer. GPU is working fine, anything further, he have to RMA himself.
You need at least 12gb. You can consider running a minimum of 3060 12gb x 2 cards. Unfortunately, Nvidia is the easier route , amd need work aroundAI generation. Should be ok. AI mainly dependent on vram. That's why I'm getting an old card.
Thank you. I wish you all the very best, just got to be extremely careful.haha if you were the seller I would be 100% assured.
No knowledge on ai but saw a post saying 3090 doesnt supports FP8 which basically halfs the memory requiredAI generation. Should be ok. AI mainly dependent on vram. That's why I'm getting an old card.
already using 3060 12gb. want to go into video generation.. think my current GPU can't do much better already. unless there's some breakthrough or amd cards suddenly canYou need at least 12gb. ya...a bit nervous. I guess I just need to tell myself that if I can't get a good deal now just pass.Thank you. I wish you all the very best, just got to be extremely careful.![]()
I mean I'm currently using gguf models on my 12gb..24gb means I can use q8 model. or at least improve the generation speeds. nah CPU should be ok. so far the main thing is vram.No knowledge on ai but saw a post saying 3090 doesnt supports FP8 which basically halfs the memory required
Totally no idea if ur affected but sound out to u just in case
Also u sure ur cpu wont bottleneck ur 3080?
