Read some posts on using the this for fast moving kids. I came this way years back, went for S90 then DSLR now Sony RX100 in search of non-blur photos as kids dun sit still and yet need something handy coz no hands to carry bulky DSLR, not to mention more ex and changing lens.
Dunno abt the capability of S120 digic 6- hope it does the job, but S90 didn't cut it, only outdoors with bright sunshine would be good. F1.8/2.0 PnS usually only at default focal length, the slightest zoom will start changing drastically. Thats the marketing. Using widest aperture at default focal length only became very limiting practically. Processor also becoming v impt, hope the digic 6 brings a good difference.
Indoors can't cut it, then again taking indoors moving kids are a challenge. Many blurred photos. I'm no photography expert and need to share the cam with even less skilled folks to use so the Canon was eventually sold.
Just sharing my experience, those getting for kids go find one to try it out first, esp indoors before losing some money on experiment like me.
RX100 eventually did the trick somewhat at a hefty price. Indoors, high ISO, no flash - RX100 makes a huge difference. Hope to see more innovation in this area of small 1" sensor and speedy cam from all manufacturers.
