CardUp (Do not post referral code) is an official warning/reminder not to post, solicit and abetting referral.

Not my problem if you failed to understand what is CardUp (Do not post referral code) . The warning will not be retract regardless of how many time you want to report me for doing my job.

Trafficking and deliver referral is the same as posting referral.

So many people have been asking for referral codes and people posting 'PM sent' for MONTHS. Why no actions or warning written in the thread that we cannot do so?

I understand you have the privilege of being appointed to a position of authority, but I am not sure that my simple question warrants such a strongly worded response and likening me to a drug dealer when all I was merely asking was whether the view taken was based on a specific clause in the Terms of Use.

In any event, since you have now clarified that the basis of your decision is based solely on the subject title of this thread, namely "do not post referral code", I would venture to suggest that asking for a code is not the same as posting a code. Using your drug trafficking example, it is a crime to traffick drugs, but it is not a crime to simply say "I have drugs for sale, contact me" without a sale actually having been concluded or drugs actually having been trafficked. As such, I respectfully suggest that the analogy is a fallacy from a legal point of view. In addition, any given rule or law needs to be understood clearly before any rules or law can be followed by the persons expected to comply with them, especially if there has been a change of interpretation of rules that had existed for a significant period of time. That is why the courts would render grounds of decisions whenever an new interpretation was being adopted, and they are in fact, very slow to new interpretations. All decisions made by arbiters need to have sound basis and that is why we have the rule of law. Accordingly, I do not think that it is unreasonable for me to ask for the basis of your decision or that it should be met by such a strongly worded message likening me to a drug trafficker.

I believe that the rationale at that time was not to have the thread spammed with referral codes but members could take it offline if they needed one. In fact, that position was adopted by your predecessor moderator for this thread prior to the current re-interpretation of an already established interpretation. I reckon that the prior interpretation also served the wider policy considerations of this forum to retain its members on this platform, whilst balancing the need to reduce spam, instead of taking a position that may drive members to seek another alternative platform for discussion to obtain what they require or to drive such discussions underground.

As such, I would respectfully request a reconsideration of the new position taken. However, if after such reconsideration, it is decided that the position stands, I am sure that people will abide by it, even if they may disagree with justifications given.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this.

There is no new interpretation nor any misleading term. My predecessor moderator already gave you warning for referral, are you totally ignorant about the policy of referral in the forum?
The title "CardUp (no referral allowed)" was changed by previous moderator on 00:54, 8th Oct 2017 to the current title, it clearly shown posting of referral is not allowed by previous moderator too.

Your post on 26-07-2017, 09:13 AM was deleted by previous moderator and no official warning/infraction.

Have replied to your PM. 8 $20 codes left if anyone wants.

Your post on 02-08-2017 05:42 PM deleted by previous moderator and an official warning given to you, rightfully despite previous violation post deleted without any form of punishment.

Just sent you a $20 one.

Your post on 13-10-2017, 02:05 PM deleted by previous moderator and no official punishment again, lucky you.

tried to pm you but your inbox still full. Might need to clear some space.

You clearly know the position on referral code:

I'm wondering if the moderators could relax the current position on asking for/giving referral codes in this thread. Many of us have benefited from either giving or receiving referral codes before the policy was enforced strictly here and some of us still have referrals to be able to give to new users and benefit both. Perhaps if the concern is spam, we could think of some more elegant way to do this so everyone can benefit from this communications platform?

Previous moderator replied you as follow:

Try posting in feedback forum or pm the admin.

In another thread, you got another warning for the post on 17-11-2017, 01:34 PM

I can refer SCB and HSBC and split the gift with you 50-50

No change or new interpretation, with 3 official warnings given to you, you know it well enough not to post, solicit, trafficking or abetting referral.

I thought people asking for referral code is OK (which happens).

But certainly not ok to post personal referral codes (seldom see it happening on this thread) ... cant say the same for other threads

Trafficking and posted referrals are deleted by previous moderator and me after I took up the position in the forum recently. What you don't or seldom see doesn't mean trafficking, solicitation of referral is allowed.

I am fully aware of the issues you have brought up, namely that we are not permitted to post referral codes nor are we permitted to say "I have a code, please let me know if you want one" or even reply to someone asking for a code saying "I have sent it to you". I also note that you have not addressed the issue I've raised viz an overly strong response to my reasonable question and take it that you are not disputing that any further.

However, you have not addressed the CURRENT topic, namely, whether it is against the rules to ASK for one. We are not taking about soliciting for codes here. None of the warnings or examples you have cited deal with the issue of ASKING for codes. In fact, none of my posts are ASKING for codes. If I missed a specific example, please do let me know.

The previous moderator only said that we cannot post our code, or post a message saying "I sent you a code" because that signifies that we have a code to offer. There was no ruling made against asking for codes, and that is why you will see many many message asking for it with nothing being said the way you said, ie that ASKING for a code is against the rules.

Could you review the thread and see how many posts are there by people asking for codes and clarify if that is in fact, a practice that is against the rules, but somehow permitted to persist?

Or is this a new interpretation that you are now putting in place (which was what I was saying all along) namely that people cannot ASK for codes anymore?

For the sake of good order, could I ask again if this issue is covered by the Terms of Service so that we can also try to abide by it?

There is no new interpretation nor any misleading term. My predecessor moderator already gave you warning for referral, are you totally ignorant about the policy of referral in the forum?

The title clearly stated " Do not post referral code", isn't this clear enough not to post, solicit or abetting referral?

from a neutral point of view, frankly speaking, it's really not clear enough
no. 1, referral code is not an illegal item like drugs
no. 2, "Do not post referral code" simply means "do not post", just like no eating in mrt doesn't mean no bringing in of your tabao Mac/KFC into the train

Hence my point earlier about a new interpretation to an already established interpretation that was understood by the people already in the thread for a significant amount of time.

Read reply #1143 specially for you.

I seriously don't see you as an innocent party on referral issue with 3 official warning given to you. Please let me know what kind or warning/infraction for you to understand the position of referral is strictly not allowed?

Wow so now I'm receiving infractions for PMs sent months ago which were asked for by the user.

If you guys do not want to see this, you should have communicated it in the thread and it will stop. We aren't unreasonable people. This is just another trigger happy power tripping inept mod.

Is there anyway to report this mod?

Just a new guy who took over duties as mod, and wants to make a loud statement letting everyone know who's in charge now. Nice heads up in the thread wouldn't do as a display of power.

Power tripping here is nothing new, Ottoke is a bigger culprit.

Actually, I have already made Reply #1145 in response to #1143.

I don't know why you are making it an ad hominem attack on me when I am asking was first merely asking for a citation on the Terms of Service, and next for clarifications on the position regarding ASKING for a referral code, none of the warnings you cited are in relation to. As stated in #1145, I have not have not asked for any referral code and hence, I don't even know what you are saying I am guilty of in relation to this specific issue.

I think you might wish to review the thread again to try to distill the specific issue I am raising, instead of conflating it with another issue that I am not addressing at all.

Read reply #1143 specially for you.

Asking for referral is no different from abetting or solicitation, by asking, members are abetting the trafficking of referral.

A total of 89 posts deleted in this thread alone for posting, trafficking of referral by me and previous moderator. The stand is clear, asking, posting and referral solicitation from now onward will get an infraction, no two way about it.

Clearly stated in the FAQ.

Thank you for your clarification.

Whilst I disagree with your reasoning, I now understand that your position is someone posting "Can I have a referral code" is against Terms of Service and likened to posting "advertising and promotion content" although the words "solicitation and trafficking" are things not mentioned therein.

In any case, at least your position is clearer now than it was before. Thank you for your time.

You're welcome to discuss and seek clarification, stirring the forum and ad hominem attack will not be tolerated thus 3 points for your ad hominem attack.

My previous reply to you is a clear rebuttal on your "innocent" position on referral which you are not exactly innocent with 3 official warning given to you by the previous moderator.

No official warning or infraction given to you when I took action this morning because you are not those asking, replying or solicitation of referral. Is this not clear enough for you on the position of referral?

So me going up to an insurance agent to buy insurance is akin to me soliciting for insurance?

Me offering to donate money to charity is akin to me advertising for donations?

Really weird.

Just for clarification, I am not the one giving you the infraction

1. I am not in charge of this section
2. Infractions sent will be under my nick

I do not know what's your beef with me when clearly I have no idea what is going on.

Why not explain all the questions that have already been brought up?

The infraction given to you answered the question for your reply.

Polersg asked for referral,

Please share referral code. Many thanks!

You responded

You are clearly posting referral via PM and open for further solicitation by replying and responding openly in the thread.

Like I mentioned, I am talking about "ASKING" not soliciting. None of the examples that you quoted to me in an attempt to establish that I already know the position, have anything to do with "ASKING". I respectfully suggest that there's no need to keep talking about past warnings and saying that I should know because they are not in relation to the same subject matter. It is as if the court is citing a case authority when giving its grounds of decision by referring sentencing benchmarks for "robbery" when the charge is for "theft". I'm not even going into whether it is appropriate to post such things or what the intention is, but I digress.

Back to the topic, apart from my own personal state of knowledge, I would have thought it would be a good and sound policy decision as a moderator to simply state the answer to my original question. A clear answer to my first question would have gone further and serve as a useful benchmark and clarification so that your task of enforcing future conduct would be easier for yourself and your other successors as well. This would also allow others (and in future, people who have not even stepped into this thread before) to also benefit instead of simply saying "You have been warned on this before (which is denied), so you know about it so I don't have to answer you". I also reiterate that I have never been warned for "asking for a promo code" and was never maintaining any issue of innocence or guilt until you opened that topic.

In any case, there's no need to further dwell on this since you have just stated the position in #1151, which was posted after my post #1150 which you have quoted in your post below. Your reply has been superseded by the chronological events and efluxion of time.

As I mentioned, I now got the answer to my very first question in your #1151 and thank you for spending the time; even though it took us several rounds to get here, but it is still worth the effort and what I was seeking in the first place.
