Hi everyone

i have been using Cardup for a while for tax payment. But has anyone use it for Mortgage payment?
I have mortgage from OCBC tied to OCBC own servicing bank account for monthly GIRO auto-deduction on each 15th day of the month if a banking day, else next immediate banking date.

anyone has personal experience on the Cardup mortgage payment function? the setup seems simple. but how to set up the payment date (eg 14th Day of each month) to avoid OCBC deduct from the linked account again by GIRO?

some practical things:
1. afraid double payment - 1st paid by Cardup, and then 2nd paid by GIRO deduction. But no one admits 1st payment, and OCBC does not acknowledge it even after a long time checking.
2. cannot just cutoff GIRO from OCBC's own serving account, as it is risky not to have any backup payment mechanism in place. not to mention if and whether OCBC will allow such cut-off from the servicing account.

you need to check under Cardup, do they pay direct to OCBC or to your account. If it is the former, you'll probably need to credit to bank with sufficient time (5/10working days). It is similar to how you pay monthly tax payment.

14th of each month will be too late, definitely get double charge, but if it is a long term recurring, double charge will only happened on the 1st month.

Had been paying for mortgage using cardup for the last 6 months, quite easy to set up. As what hwz_zx had mentioned, there are 2 methods to pay your mortgage, use the 2nd method and there is actually no change required at the bank's end.

if reach 2000$/month to get UOB one card 5% rebate $300/3months, for example, cardup fee is 2.5%. I must pay IRAS by it with amount $2000 (charged total $2050 in CC) or only $1952 ( charged total $2000.8 in CC) is OK? thanks

It is based on total charge so $2000.80 will meet the spend requirement. But don't forget you also need a minimum of 5 transactions too.
