This a democratic country right, the boss should have the final say right.

A lot of people also said the same thing for Punggol East By-election.

Media and people online all said PAP sure win cos it has always been a Pro-PAP ward. In the end, multi-party fight also WP win gao gao and kick out the PAP.

It was definitely a freak result. The residents who were interviewed werent mostly unhappy over issues with amenities but mainly because PAP rolled out the 6.9 Million White Paper shortly after winning the 2011 elections despite LHL asking people to give him a chance to make things better. And this is what they get in return.

And 4 years later today, the population is nearing 5.5 Million and people are already feeling the effects of overcrowding and poor planning of this current PAP team. To expect the same group of people who voted for PAP to continue voting for this party is no longer a guarantee.

And if Pro-PAP people can suddenly change their minds to vote for the Opposition in Punggol East, this too can happen everywhere in Singapore in all SMCs and GRCs.

It's an exaggeration. But tbh, no amount of sweat is going to get the opposition anywhere under a competition that's skewed heavily in favour of one party. Imagine Brazil owns FIFA and sets all the rules of World Cup in its favour.

In every competition there's rules set by a neutral body. Yea, the one who scores more goals wins. Now I'm assuming u believe this competition we will see on Sep 11 is set by a neutral body.

I have to agree. Don't habour high expectations or be too hopefully based on the sentiment you get from online materials or from the huge response you see in opposition rallies.

It was almost the same in 2011 do you remember? So much hopes and excitement going on cos all constituencies but one got contested. We saw so much support for WP.

In the end, WP did manage to wrestle something out from PAP. In the end, percentage of voters who voted for PAP dropped. But what mattered was that PAP won and they still did whatever sh!t they liked and peasants' lives didn't get any better, in fact it gotten worse!

A mam without any hope is as good as dead. Be hopeful, but manage your hopes, lest when you get disappointed, you won't get too depressed.

For those old enough, I express the same caution for the upcoming Star Wars movie. Try to recall the excitement you had for SW Episode 1 back in 1999.
