Let's not go too extreme, every country have their rules and regulations for investors. The stability, efficiency, cleanliness, location etc of doing business in Singapore is all part of the consideration, not just only rules and regulations.
No this is no extreme, this are fact put yourself in the shoes. if the needle dun poke on you, you will not feel the pain.

those who complain are those who are incapable of migrating.. lol

Why haven't you migrate? If you have migrate, are you a PR? A new citizen?
You ain't local born?

Besides, I have not heard of anyone in politics not complaining. The MIW is constantly complaining about the oppo and vice versa... Don't see them all migrating.

complain = something something
this label is just :s22:

Btw, I see you complain a lot about people complaining.

How do you determine right and wrong?

Difficult and subjective right?

Democracy? Simple and easy reference to majority vote.

The PAP has 60% for the last election. You can draw the election map upside down and it won't change that. 60%>40%.
It's not as simple as that.

To start off, is a first-past-the-post system that allows a 60% voteshare to translate to a supermajority domination of parliament, fair? Some (or many) would already find this aspect problematic.

We all are immigrant when our ancestor come here to look for a better future, if we cannot find any future in this land anymore we will go someway else like our ancestor this is evolving of civilization.

Not all immigrant are the same. Our forefathers came to this land when it was nothing (as proclaim by your ruling party as fishing villages), and together they built this nation up for their son and daughters and subsequently, their grand children. And you want say all immigrant are the same?

Cannot do this and that is because of problems, and who created the problems? And if Singaporean is on the short-change side, either already losing their jobs in the process or ending up with low-level jobs than those "FTs", what so if the investor really to pull out of Sibngapore, who will be more on the losing end? Singaporean or FTs?
Then we Singaporean will become FT in other country la if cannot migrate if those can migrate will go someway else with better future.
Sometime we must be realistic we Singapore do not have the basic survival requirement in life supporting but we still achieve with this result should be happy laio life is short let enjoy it.

You can draw however you want and change the %% but I don't see 40% representation of opposition in the parliament. Surely you understand this?

The 40% consist of voters who voted for people who LOST to PAP candidates in certain areas.

If we translate what you mean into a game of soccer then the losing team with 1 goals against 2 goals from the winning team deserve 1/3 of the trophy?

How about President Election? Should all the losing candidate all share a portion of the position since they have a % of votes?

It's a representative system not a % system.

But it won't happen lah because before the rubbish FT policy came into place, investors didn't pull out also, you also have to be realistic about that.

Of course I don't have the right to deny migrants for a better life, but as a citizen, I have the right to disapprove excessive migrants to coming into my country.

You can't blame them due to high-cost of living.

you can blame them for not living frugally.

look around your friends, how many aspire to buy car? how many carry iPhones? how many go on yearly holidays? earn how much spend how much yolo everyday no wonder complain no money. high cost of living is self inflicted

It's not selfish, it's being realistic. Singapore is small, so it cannot accomodate so many foreigners. Even HDB has rules about how many peole can be house in a flat. Is that selfish part on HDB?

It's a representative system not a % system.

Problem is the GRC system. It's more like a party lost to another party rather than candidates lose to candidates.

Are you saying that if 1 soccer player is good, 5-6 players on that side should play in the team? Any of the 11 single good player should be in the team by his own merits, not drag along a few other people.

You are saying President Election which is a different system to GRC system?
How do you make a comparison when the system is different? It's similar to a SMC system only. And if you mean that, that would be more rational.

As for the %, it should not be like a 1-2goal share 1/3 trophy thing either because that competition is a either or competition, in our system, it isn't a either or system. And it shouldn't be and it isn't one. I don't see how you can say I think it's like that.

A parliament is not a either your team or my team competition. It comprise of different parties and should have different % of representation.
You don't win all the seats just because you won 60% of the votes.

Not to say that it has to be an exact representation of the % of votes, but should be closer to the reality. There is no need to be extreme in thinking 40% of votes=40% of representation in parliament. But 40% of votes representing only about 10%?
