I installed 3x Bestar $198 each and paid $2 each to fan installation technician during June 2024. Reporting that so far they never dropped down from my ceiling. :ROFLMAO:

Only exchange one of the remote controller due to battery delpete fast.

Bestar don't buy lah please go buy other brands. Thanks.
Yah fan installer also told me about the remote.

I will take note of the batteries.

My parents installed Bestar 4 years ago. Working strong until now.

Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for outdoor ceiling fans? e.g. for car porches and patios.

google search turns up outdoor ceiling fans from haiku but they’re rather expensive.

Speaking of which, any haiku fan owners here? any opinions on your haiku fans?

If you approach other fan dealers, they will say Aeroair is the low end one and PO has powerful wind. I installed PO and Alaska. I like Alaska for the composite blade. But the PO cyclone and vortex looks very sleek. Prestige is the high end range of Aeroair. But my wife dont like the design. So really depends on individual
How are your Alaska and PO fans doing? I’ve currently shortlisted haiku, prestige and PO. Would be good to hear opinions from owners from those fans

So far all good. PO is more expensive that Alaska. The wind is very strong (I don’t go more than 3). Alaska blade is very hard (some aluminum composite). PO blade feel flimsy compared to Alaska

To answer your questions, my friends all had the above.

(1) Haiku - very nice, good brand and costly. Feel free to buy but a bit painful if you need to buy many.
(2) PO is very nice and affordable. Price quite reasonable. I got it quite cheap because my friend knows the distributor. I think I only bought at $480 or something which is much cheaper than Lazada, Shopee. But previously we ordered like 40 fans together
(3) Prestige is also good. But my wife said it looks ugly because of the blade design and body design. Else we would have bought.

Any questions can ask. I try my best to answer

@elvintay07 wil tell you don't buy cheap $200 fans. Later can drop down or disintegrate.

Recently, I bought 4x fans from Bestar. Super good value for money. Plus special installation rate and free 1x standing fan.

Best of all 3 of the 4 fans are smart fans and able to work well with all of my smart switches.

Yes. I don’t recommend but you song you can buy. I not comfortable to put those cheap fans since I am sleeping below. I also don’t commission those 3rd party handyman to do installation for me. Only the authorised installer from the company

Thanks guys for your opinions! lol sorry to re-incite your debate

How about ceiling fans in covered outdoor areas, ie balcony, porch, patio? Do u need outdoor rated fans for those or will indoor rated fans suffice?

I did not buy outdoor rated because my balcony is sufficiently dry.

These smart devices are quite mature technology. So they are stable.

They can last past warranty period is good enough. 4-5 years lifespan is a bonus.

That's why its important not to overpay for the appliances.

Update:

Visited phylux today to look at haiku and Aerotron fans.
also visited point one to look at the cyclone fan.

Not very impressed with haiku and aerotron. Given the price point, I expected more from haiku. Aesthetics-wise and wind strength-wise, preferred the PO cyclone.

Mesieteus” Bestar is the no1 brand in terms of value. Based on the price point, Haiku at least need to spin as fast as helicopter blades and have AI. Else it is overpaying for the owner Rolls Royces.

Why would the smart fans not work with the smart switches compared to traditional rocker switch?

Don't talk nonsense la, if installation is shoddy, even a $1m fan also will drop. The price of the fan has no bearing on whether or not it will drop.

How many instances have you heard of fans dropping or fan blades flying out? You mount turbine engine is it?

So you are saying installation more important than fan? Then ok to buy china/ Malaysia fans and then get champion installers to install correct?

No safety mark for Msian fans.

I believe he meant if good installation and local fans with safety mark, they are safer.

Some said kdk using same parts. Only 1 with safety mark SG and 1 without. Malaysian also argue their safety standards higher than SG. China also claimed their safety standards higher because even their airlines need battery to be triple C certified.
