i was like if i know how to do i dont have to call hdb!
well i sold my house and let the new owner solve the problem.

Since you mentioned that I go searched my file. My downstairs complaints leaking from my kitchen toilet ceiling. That's was during 2013, HDB charged me 221.35 for that.

What has hack the floor to do with ceiling leaking?

It could be due to upper unit Pipe leak hence resulting to your ceiling leak or other factor

Like i mention, approach TC & HDB pertaining to the ceiling leak, they will come and retify and speak to the upper neighbour

As for payment, be it 50/50, they will inform you after retify
Have to hack the floor to redo waterproofing. Top level water leaks to below level slab soffit.
Very very rarely will be pipe leaking that cause leakage.

what they did on your side then? :o
They hacked the floor tiles and lower part of wall tiles, replaced a new toilet bowl , relayed waterproofing chemicals. I actually paid another 2K for workers to redo wall tiles to half high of toilet. As the tiles provided by them don't matched with my existing wall tiles.

My parent flat at amk leak is due to the kitchen pipe

Refer the matter to TC and the property officer approach the upper unit neighbour

Next change the pipe

Can't recall is 50/50 or who foot the bill more

Hack floor redo waterproofing not expensive if contractor recommend by HDB/TC

If ownself go source, sure chop you gao gao

My shower water leaked downstairs so I applied it onto my toilet floor.

I will pay $300 to solve this problem tho, it's so cheap.

But for my time, HDB asked me to find a private contactor. The quotation for apply this nano thing is already 2k+
Oh its ur own masionette unit? For mine is hdb flat and upstairs is neighbor. If same situation like u, i also think do simple nano to the upstairs floor try if it works.

Thats what HDB suggests. Actually could try other methods to fill up cracks/small holes. Makes me wonder if HDB comtractors wanna earn money..

Your case is technically not a leak bc it's a blocked water pipe?

It's blocked pipe which had lead to other issues. There were hacking through the flooring and repair work done.

Year 2013.
were u flustered when the officer came over to check? :o

like the fault lies beyond your knowledge & had caused inconvenience to the unit below

tsk
but really thinking about it, this issue will occur to every household after say, a long period of time of occupancy

can be quite bothersome imo

The most annoying part was after all that fixed the whole house was covered by dusts. But actually they only hacked the 1 toilet. It took few days to slowly clearing those dusts. Haha

Hacking and redo waterproofing is the best way to settle water leaking issue. PU grout is not recommended because sealing 1 crack may cause water to flow to another crack

Juz visited my neighbour

It appear that the drainage is sealed aka no in use so I guess it's pipe issue?

But since its harder to convince neighbor to stop using bathroom for days and the higher cost, maybe can try another alternative first to see if it could have solved the problem?
