i won’t put too much details because I don’t want to get doxxed

but long story short, bought a condo Only to find out that it suffers from existing water seepage issues

upstairs Neighbour refused to get it fixed. Tried to negotiate nicely but failed, turns out to be a huge a$$hole. Meanwhile my ceiling getting moldy by the day and I’m worried for the health of my infant.

no choice, filed a complaint with Strata Title Board. Went all the way to mediation before it became very clear to the neighbour they will lose the case if brought to courts.

in the end they have to sign a letter acknowledging they will commit to fix the problem. Damn funny see their pissed off face when signing

Most people say to contact HDB so I did and HDB told me to wait for TC to call :s22:

ikr... all i can do now is wait for TC to come

HDB said TC will contact me in 3-7 days...

Depends on where the problem lies. Certain areas under hdb, certain areas under TC, rest under you 😂

The way they differentiate the areas of responsibility can be rather weird 🤣

It's not just the waterproofing. The owner upstairs is not going to just have a cement floor, but will get new floor tiles.

The price will vary depending on what tile he gets. It could be cheap Made In Vietnam tiles or expensive Made in Italy tiles. Who pays?

Very selfish neighbours upstairs. Nobody likes to spend money but if your floor needs to do a waterproofing due to age, you cannot ignore it when it causes issues for those living below. Very selfish.

Ok but seldom it's pipe issue.

I mean if the ceiling leaks under town council pipe surroundings. The responsibility is under town council.

dun ask me why they wanna separate town council and HDB. as home owner, we see one pipe nia. :s13:

Anyone staying in the top floor and encountered ceiling seepage leading to ceiling paint flaking and peeling off? Is this home owner or TC responsible to repainting the affected area?

2 weeks ago, HDB just upgraded my master & common toilet bowls, hacked redo the floor tiles, put in new floor pipes, took 8 days to finish, cost me $630.
