Begin to wonder what the rush

A10t is from Teclast, it is the biggest in the 2nd cat of China tablets. 1st cat will be like lenovo and huawei, 2nd are all the fimiliar brands we know, 3rd cat are all the lesser known shanzhai brands.

It like Samsung Android phones are prefered over other brands. They just get sold out faster or more. It doesn't mean they really are the best (except for the flagship models).

sold faster i understand...was afraid it will be removed from sale...(seen many poor reviews of the unit..visual wise...cover unable to close etc..)& Telcast support rather weak..(had P76Ti)...thanks god it was fine..no need to "chase" like in N7a's days

A10t is LG screen, the internal looks "empty" but better than Teclast A10 lah. Onda uses LG or China manufactured one (AOC?).

Uppo 8003 the internal looks nice, kinda reminds me of Gemei ones.

399 RMB is the Gemei G3 which is the crippled of G2, except it's 512MB RAM (G2 1GB), 4GB ROM (G2 8/16GB), 3000mah battery(G2 3200mah) & doesn't come with charger (able to charge via USB), OTG cable, earpiece.

399RMB also have one SXZ PD10. SXZ is a GPS company, PD10 series is their 1st tablet that uses Telechip TCC8923 Cortex A5 (something like crippled of A9, capable of having 1-4cores)

IMHO, it is IF you buy from Taobao, else prepared to be ripped off at the price of US$100+.

To my knowledge there are already Shanzhai A10 selling at 399 RMB or lower, but Gemei is better in terms of firmwares and build (generally).

To top it off, G3 comes with a stable Android 2.3.4 firmware out factory and has Android 4.0.3 firmware available. This is improtant as Allwinner A10 firmwares has yet added power management for their ICS firmwares. That's why people are complaining about the power drain.

Movies & some 3D games can run well on any A10 tablet with 512MB RAM (like G3), but for ICS it is advisable to have 1GB RAM. However, ICS running with 512MB RAM is acceptable.

Browsing & ebook reading might be an issue for those avid readers/surfers, as it's not IPS screen. There's one side with very bad angle view. But for normal/casual usage I think G3 is good enough.

4GB ROM on G3 is annoying to some, but it can be fix with a sd-card

I'll give a better review after I get the unit sometime this week. Hope I have enough time to play it before my wife takes it on her biz trip

I not very android tech savy, only have htc android phone, haven't try rooting, custom rom etc.
Does Gemei G3 need to root, install custom rom etc? A lot of customisation needed?

Android market I believe 2.3.4 firmware should have and if G3 uses the 0.9 version of 4.0.3 then market should be in as well. I can only be sure after I get my unit.

If you aren't tech savy I suggest u get the Novo7A2 or Novo7E or Novo7Au as you'll get more help here or in slatedroid. Gemei G3 is too new and I may not be keen to do a script for it

Nope Their cheapest is the Novo7P (499 RMB not advisable) that uses MIPS chipset instead of Allwinner A10.

If u decide to get Gemei G3, be prepare u need to accept some quirks (even those 500+ RMB ones also), and you may need to do something like running script and stuffs to get the firmware to work better

Do your research, know what u are getting urself into. Don't end with regrets

fully argee...else, will start to compare android against apple..android not user freindly, lag etc..but u r buying a fraction of ipad.

ipad = non techy
android = more customise...techy

If u ask me, China tablets are lifetime warranty. The warranty normally end when the product discontinue. But on paper it's normally 1 year warranty, but u'll need someone send back to China for u, and u'll need pay for shipping to and fro.

3000 mah is about 3hrs online video streaming with wifi on, volume 50% and screen around 30% brightness.

If u really into gaming, but a quad-core. If u want total fuss free buy a branded tablet. I believe u may not end well with China tablet, so don't waste time looking and considering
