Seasonscrystal,

Don't release so much poison leh.....cannot tahan. Will be going back to Shanghai next month and thinking of picking up a media player. Better to keep media player posting to the 'Home Entertainment and Audiophiles' section.

Now you make me gian.

:s13: Allwinner A10 media player :D

Eaget 忆捷H9 499 RMB :D
http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=14054269417

Very new I think just out for like a week. Going to wait till confirm got stable firmware then get. Or better still wait for one that can put HDD inside:D

edit: Eaget this brand generally ok, i have one of their media player with record function for almost 1 year. Workmanship maybe not as good as bigger brand like Himedia, but it's always value for money :)

:s13: Home Entertainment section not many A10 fan there mah :s13: Anyway it's more for kyleongwl, he said he's looking for media player;)

Anyway 499 RMB is cheap since u can get it locally.

Here's 1 more poison. Bmorn V15 is the first (at least to my knowledge) Allwinner A10 tablet with 2G+3G, add 100 RMB more you'll get BT as well. Retail price is 799RMB only :)
˫ģ3G+°²×¿4.0 À¶³¿V15½ö799ÔªÉÏÊÐ_À¶³¿MID_MP3ÐÂÎÅ-ÖйشåÔÚÏß

The bad things are no IPS screen, only at 800x480 resolution and 512MB RAM only. I think not mentioned in the V15 news is that it has 4000mah battery:D

edit: Last dec I recall I said the 1st half of the year will be IPS & dual cores war, the later half will be 3G. With V15, I see that my prediction just MAY come true.

Hope I can see a dual-core, 7-9.7" IPS with 3G China tablet at 1299RMB or less by end of 2011 :)

BTW I'm targeting Allwinner A10 media player to be 399 RMB or less. Reason is Gemei G3 can be 399RMB with the cost of LCD screen, digitizer and battery. I don't see why a media player with less costly parts should be 499 RMB.:s8:

Hey everyone. Have some newbie questions. Anyone here currently using n90? If I'm right there's no 3G. Then we can use a dongle to surf on the go? Thr dongle needs a mobile data plan? Or it can use our phone's data?

Thanks!

My Aoson M19 has no internal 3g so i can use an external one. But I was told not all brands of dongle are compatible, so i bought the dongle which the vendor said tested to work. Yes u need to insert a data plan sim card into the dongle. Otherwise u can your iphone as personal hotspot.

Also ordered something (non-electronics) via 65daigou & I must say their processing speed is much better than sgshop.

Normally if I place order around lunch time with sgshop, the earliest they update purchased of the order is around 6-7pm, most cases if they buy next day... 65daigou took less than 2hrs to make purchase of my order. This is good as it'll save a day of waiting.

Just good to know: sgshop taobao account IIRC is 4 golden diamonds, 65daigou is 4 crowns. sgshop warehouse is guangdong, 65daigou is shanghai.

Will see how fast 65daigou really is, maybe next time use they all the way. But their Singapore office is near IMM, sgshop office near National Lib is closer to me.:s8:
A brief update on 65daigou.

Yesterday during lunchtime I placed order with them for 2 different sellers product. 1 at Shanghai which was commented to make fast delievery, the other seller at Shenzhen.

65daigou made purchased for me around 2.40pm, and today they updated around 5pm that my items from Shanghai seller recieved.

Sgshop normally will only update the following day. Which normally resulted to a day or 2 later when I get my items. I did question them regarding this a few times, they normally replied they are packed with orders, so updating is slower.

So those trying to get tablets from Taobao via Air, maybe can consider 65daigou over sgshop. But I still don't know how fast they send items to Singapore yet=:p I'm just impressed with their status update.

Update is all items reached on 24th morning around 11am (the updated time), then I confirm to have the items sent, around 2pm they updated it as items are been pack.

Around 11am just now, they updated the status as items shipped to Singapore :) Very impressed with their speed and updates so far. I believe it'll save me a day or 2 compared to sgshop for same order.

Also updating the Momo11 that I want to send back for repair. Spoken to sgshop on 17th when I went collect one of my sea shipment. They said I would need to send the tablet back China on my own due to some tax issue. Then after repair can have it send back to them for shipment back.

OK, to me that's fair. So I asked them to help me contact the seller for details. They asked me to write an email to them to make sure. Fair also, black and white mah.

So I wrote an email on 18th, followed by a message on their website on 20th. They said they are trying to contact the seller. But till today no news from them. Going to chase them again when I go collect next sea shipment:s8:

So those thinking of getting tablets via sgshop might want to try 65daigou as they seems to update things faster:s13:

Looking forward to buy a media player rather than a tablet. When I travel I would like to carry a small media player that I can connect to any TV in the hotel room to watch downloaded movies or even movies online. Tablet is more for use in the plane where I can watch movies at my seat.

Everything else I have my iphone.:s13:

If I'm on a short trip and want to bring the least devices, I'll just take my atrix (pr rather most android phones). Can connect TV via HDMI (Or use RCA converter) can stream and download vids via apps.

Media player is just too bulky to bring here and there. Unless you buy the portable versions which is like potable 2.5" HDD (not ideal with A10 due to heat), but those normally no wifi. In any case wifi in most hotels not powerful enough.

My trips are never short. Part of my job involve working on projects for several months in overseas locations. So being alone in the hotel room is quite frequent. I like to carry device liked the Himedia HD600A which is almost the size of a router and light enough. I currently uses the Astone AP 200 which is exactly what you described (a media player with 2.5inch Harddisk). Unfortunately this player is not able to access internet.

As for flying, not everyone of us are entitled to fly Singapore Airlines. So self-entertainment on the plane is important.

I am currently using my Ainol Aurora to plug into the TV to watch movie. However this is not an ideal long term solution.

lol I strongly believe I was the 2nd person to bought the 1st batch of HD600A from SLS. I think u pm me or asked me about HD600A about a yr ago. In any case i would not advise you to get the Eaget H9.

Since you had gone thru HD600A, you should know media player without external ant have a good chance of weak wifi connection. Allwinner A10 is ideal to become a media player chipset. Just wait for more models to come out. OR get urself a tp-link wifi-extender.

Normally for around 1week or more trip I'll have 2 phones (local and Singapore), a 7" tablet and the portable wifi-extender. But then if urs a month or more a portable media player will be better.:s13:
