For Taobao, it seems to me that many of its sites are through CDN but "s.taobao.com" may not be. That was a problematic site for VQ users last time, not so sure about M1.

Bash:

From the VQ thread: post on 29 June 2024
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...-thread-part-6.6473287/page-66#post-152900416

Just some information tested use speedtest.net for people who visit China websites often:
VQ connection to China Mobile networks(中国移动)very good, can reach 400Mbps
16434510428.png

VQ connection to China Unicom(中国联通) is poor, can only reach about 10Mbps
16434503439.png

VQ is technically insulated with ChinaTelecom network(中国电信), the download speed will be <1Mbps and upload test will fail, so no result here.

SIngtel 1Gbps test results -- lazy so use wireless (not the real bottleneck anyway), Singtel 1Gbps plan, ONT + Asus RT-AX86U router, Acer Windows 11 laptop with Intel AX201 WiFi 6 adapter, 4m away.

Using Chrome browswer to carry out the test as it will not be the bottleneck.

1) China Mobile Zhejiang (Hangzhou) -- pretty good result in terms of both speed and latency.

2) China Unicom Jiangshu (Wuxi) -- pretty good result in terms of both speed and latency.

3) China Telecom Jiangshu (Shuzhou) -- pretty bad results in terms of both speed and latency.

I tend to believe none of the consumer ISPs here have good connection to China Telecom for consumer Fibre broadband plans. That is probabaly because China Telecom charges high for IPLC and IEPL.

China Mobile and China Unicom have similar services as well.
not sexpert but i think those are the wrong products.

you're looking for paid peering or ip transit, and the cost for those services are usually hidden under an NDA.

You may well be right. I use the word "believe" but I may well be wrong...

I think I read too much about China Telecom IPLC last time because of the interests for the solutions to bypass China GFW back in 2018/2019.

How about games from China? The Chinese version of FFXIV is here: 162.14.144.1

Getting about 100ms on MR recently, used to be 70ms

it's 300ms for me, fwah!

AS9506 Singtel 5Gbps plan (ONR + OpenWRT double NAT), Singtel IPv4 plus 6rd IPv6

Good results to 3e3e.cn and www.yunchepin.cn.

M1 is known to be bad to China, but is it so bad?

From MR thread.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/myrepublic-fibre-part-5.4981088/page-364

Hello just like to check with the existing customer for MR. Is the connection to China for the gamer subscription is still very good? If possible can do the tracert for the following below. I went down to their official shop but there issnt any computer for me to check it out. Thank alot.

tracert 1688.com
tracert alipay.com
tracert taobao.com

Forget to mention I am using M1 now and the ping is easily over 400ms, just now reached 600+ ms. Hear MR is the best for China connection but not sure if its still good now and is it stable. Thank you.

MR is better than M1 but not good enough for gaming in China server.
Also gamer plan is $5 more expensive but it's only marginally better. I used uu booster or mudfish for FF14CN before, both performs very well and much better than direct connect.

MR (1G non gamer)M1 (1G)
1688.com261ms (50% loss)384ms (0% loss)
alipay.com312ms (75% loss)395ms (75% loss)
taobao.com258ms (0% loss)393ms (25% loss)

Singtel is much better than the above M1 and MR results.

Many of the OOkla SpeedTest in China are down.

Here are some working ones -- I got the list by using AJS VPN to China.
https://www.speedtest.net/api/js/servers

From AJS server lists ping values, I also know that Singtel has decent connection to China Mobile and China Unicom, but bad connections to China Telecom.

Bash:
PS C:\work\networking\ookla-speedtest-1.2.0-win64> .\speedtest.exe -L
