This new brand Top/Topioo/Top100 kinda gotten my interest, the design looks nice to me and the price is very cheap.

Here's a vid of their older Tpad700 model (Cortex A9, 512MB RAM, 8GB, Android 2.2) selling for 699RMB. The screen like very responsive but should be resistive.
http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMjY5OTk3OTAw.html

The newer models are Tpad701(599RMB) and Tpad801pro(799RMB). Runs on RK2918 1.2GHz, 512MB RAM, 8GB, Android 2.3 & capacitive 2points.

I encounter this when I bought my Himedia HD600A. The official listed price is RM549, but when I bought in Singapore from SLS is $199. The prices are often jacked up.

New brands normally sell cheaper. If you look what HP touchpad liquidation program, US$99 for a 16GB 1GHz. 350k sold in a few days. You can guess how much profit goes into these tablets ;)

Often we are exposed to the export prices, it's not only limited to China products. Coach bags are very good example=:p

Rena3 is NEC EV2, Sensev7 is TCC8803, Tpad701/801pro is RK2918. They are different internally. Out look also different.

NEC EV2 maybe good for daily usage with better battery. TCC8803 and Tpad701 are better for HD movie & 3D gaming. It really depends on what you want.

edit: As for wopad, it's one of those brands that have pricing control. Web reseller prices and Taobao/Aliexpress all about the same. Wopad USA (http://www.wopadusa.com/) selling it at US$199. I believe Top Tpad701 price is also controled also, while sensev7 and rena3/rene++ (I read 2 oem factory doing them).

IIRC EV2 4th generation is the Magictab, 3rd generation is the one with red top white back single speaker, 2nd generation is the one we oftern see with 3G & GPS option, 1st generation is the one without option of 3G & GPS.

bro, not worth it la..price of the screen and manpower can buy new pad already la.

the rom we have is android 2.2, build version 1.5++ already very fast. We did try custom rom but mostly for build 1.3, not much difference. so stick with stock rom, this time round, the stock rom has original Android market. Bingo thats what we all need for a cheap pad.

if u free popby sls play lor, you will be surprise of how responsive the screen compare to other china pad that you may have seem.

wht is the difference between A9 and A8 processor ah?

can we see the performance difference by human eyes?
Thanks for the advice. By your logic, there is no difference between Core i3 vs i5 vs i7. I'm sure we can't see performance difference such as 2D and 3D framerates. I'm also sure there would never be a more demanding application in future that would require a more powerful processor (XP -> Vista -> Windows 7; Android 1.x to 2.x to 3.x).

I suppose you are in sales so you might be technically challenged. I Googled and this is what I've found:

"The highlights for me would be that A9 is out-of-order with speculative exceution [sic], improving instruction throughput, and it has lower latency when moving values between NEON/VFP register file and the ARM register file, which makes using floating point significantly more efficient in software."

It makes perfectly no sense to an average Joe. To cut the chase, ask yourself, is there any difference between an older CPU vs a newer one? If it is the same, then by all means go for the cheaper, older one.

we spend time and time and time to explain the logic but with your few words, things are clear....

Let me explain myself as I think there was a slight confusion:

I disagreed with your claim that there is no difference between A8 and A9. You are wrong. There is a huge difference, to those who know their stuff. I highlighted the CPU architectural differences for this purpose.

People who doesn't know, will think like you, that there are no differences. This is wrong. People who do not know the difference will never know there is something better. Hence, they would be "happy" to stick to the cheaper option. Happy for "now". But once they know about it, they might regret. E.g. when a newer OS or a more demanding application is available and their hardware is not capable to run smoothly, they will regret.

Shared this a few days ago, after some searching for the reviews, it seems that Tpad700 has some screen problems. Should be result of using cheap resistive screen. So for those interested, it might be wise to wait for some reviews. (These models are out less than 1/2 a month)

Saw this post :)

A bro sighted Novo8 at Comex for $239:s7: Don't know if last day will reduce price or not:s13:

Edit: Wopad i7 (RK2918) which I'm keen to get seems to be gaining some interest on slatedroid. There's a review and someone seems to be working on custom rom. Also pandawill posted a vid on it liao :)

Novo8 is not a bad unit..(it had a gd hw)
Setback is the buttons on the right..(too non-conventional)

Previously thru others, someone is selling less than this..but could be the older model.
239 is still cheaper than IMM's unit at 259 or 269

Saw that there is an update as well.

Novo8 buttons I think it's up to individual, some may like it better that way. If cheaper than 239 I'll be really tempted, with 8" and 8GB. Trying to decide between i7 and novo8. Or maybe just sign plan to get xoom at $98 (after sign m1 CC $100 rebate):D

The person who gave a detail review of wopad i7 also sells Rena3. He seems to favour the i7 which he'll be selling soon. So cannot 100% take in his review as a whole. But the photo he posted of Rena3 screen vs i7 screen, i7 colors looks better :) Pandawill price for 1st time buyer is about S$210 shipped.
