Not a bad idea. Especially if rates continue to trend downwards. Even if rise again at some point, probably not much. I dunno. Sometimes i feel damn tired to keep checking for new options every 2-3 months, lock in 3 years, no need to think for next 3 years also good.
Ya with the interest going downhill trend , locking @2.85% for 3 yrs is quite a good deal as of now.

If say got 100k, Can withdraw 95k, but keep 5k to withdraw on 1 Apr? It won’t affect the int on 95k up to 30th March ?
Any amount of money u withdraw on 1 Apr wont affect the int before 1 Apr.

Saw the rest of the peeps reply you and i still got to  myself.
March has 31 days, not 30 days.
No point withdrawing 95k first... Why would you do that? You don't want interest for the 95K on that day?

You are not affected by the rate change.

Your promo runs from 1st Jan till 31st March 2025. This is your TnC - https://www.cimb.com.sg/content/dam/cimbsg/personal/document/tnc/accounts/2025/casa-tnc-jan2025.pdf

You withdraw all your monies on 1st April 2025 then you say bye to this bank.
Then check back on 1st May 2025 for your remaining monies

I hold a different view- in my mind Clause 16 invalidates the original illustrated rates.

Now, then it make sense since you are just prepping in this scenario

So CIMB Jan 2025 promo is based on seeing increment of 5k above 31 Dec 2024 end of day balance.

So you must check how much did you have on 31 Dec 2024. If you are not sure, you can reverse calculate through the CIMB statement.

As long as you have increment of 5000 above 31 Dec 2024, you are safe. But just to be sure, personally I would leave 1k more (6000) however that is your choice to make

Part 2.. sorry typing on phone, not too used to it.

Assuming you really need all the 100k, actually you can just forgo the march bonus interest then and withdraw everything.
This is the worst case

There is another route you can take that is just ensure that at least on 31 March 2025, you have the 5k increments above 31st Dec 2024 end of day balance

The welcome gift only awarded after 7 mths, and need maintain AUM 6mths
while the 3.3% only till Apr :s22:
Come to think of it
but if we are using starsaver
which there is no cap of interest earned
for funds above $250k
Can get 2.7% pa from 1 April

the only downside
$200k each day withdrawal limit
