Hi guys
I'll touch down tao yuan at 1155 and will straight take a hsr to TC and to CJ.
Do I have to buy the bus ticket from TC to cj in advance? Or the buses are always available?

HSR to Taichung should be easily available..but even if u bought and miss the train still can be refund or exchange for a new ticket with the price different if any.

I just arrived Cingjing today.

Took Bus from Kao Hsiong over to Taichung after spending typhoon soudelor at kenting.

From Taichung station go visitor center, they will direct you to the bus operator which is just 5mins walk away north-east from THSR station. Bus fare is nt130.

The bus will take about 1hr from Taichung to Puli Town which is the terminating stop. Upon arriving at Puli terminal stop, cross the road opposite and walk left towards a bus station Kuo Kuang where there's a bus service #6 by nantou bus to Cingjing @ nt115.

It will take about 30mins to reach Cingjing where bus will start letting people alight near to respective minus as you tell him.

Stayed at Sunnydale minsu as it has favorable review. Price is NT3000 with dinner and breakfast covered but nothing fantastic. View is nice but now at night balcony is infested with large moths and bugs that render balcony useless thus only morning and afternoon is useful.

Read starry minsu is at the peak of cingjing but didn't get a chance to see as it is bloody far up (4km from sunnydale minsu). Rest I did walk around and visit for next trip stay.

Anyone know how early I could actually book the minsu in Cingjing? I search for all the minsu seems that majority of them are unavailable for booking? I am going there early Jan or am I looking too early?

i'm going on Nov but i email them yesterday they tell me the weekend already full for the 2 person room..

It doesnt go direct to CJ. The bus from TC HSR will go to puli. At puli must change another bus to CJ. The bus from TC HSR to puli is quite frequent, but the bus from puli to CJ has fixed timing (abt 1hr interval and the last bus is 4+pm)

Thanks but eventually managed to find some of the website said only can book 3months in advance.. I suppose majority of them can't book too early..

Day Trip to CingJing Possible?

Hi All!

I am currently planning for my trip to taiwan with a friend this coming January '16. Even though I have visited Taiwan once a year but haven't got a chance to visit CingJing yet.

Just wondering if day trip to CingJing and Little Swiss Garden is possible?

Any one has reviews of Cingjing Vienna Pleasance Cottage?

I think i like it over Lin Shing as it is 5-10 mins walk to Misty Plaza and near to Swiss Garden/ Carton King.

The only bane is that some of the rooms do not have air-con, so very scared it will be stuffy plus flying bugs ard.

Sorry for bugging this thread as i am still sourcing for my 2 nights stay there.

Nice place and good hosts. Has a garfield-esque kitty as well. They have one block facing the mountains, and one behind it.

Their balcony door has 2 layers, 1 glass and 1 mesh. Can just keep the mesh one closed if you want to enjoy the cold weather and scent of nature without the bugs. A note for privacy though, as the units are separated only by a non full height wooden board, you can easily see other units. Furthermore, the balcony has a low railing, and anyone can just climb out and walk over to other units, if so inclined.

Bonus points if you appreciate tea. They grow their own tea leaves in a garden further up, and the boss does tea sampling sessions in the morning. Outstanding flavor and aroma.

i took from tpe to cj and cj to tc before.

For cj to tc leg, the mini van came to pick us up at the cj minsu and sent us to our tc minsu (fj area). Not bad imo if you have kids/old folks and luggage
