Bloody cyclists. Zebra crossing also should slow down or stop to check if vehicles are stopping for them what. You don't just cycle at high speed thinking that drivers can see you when you are way outside their viewing angle then out of sudden appear in front of the vehicle.
wearing spandex have some effects when it comes to thinking... :ROFLMAO:

There of course will be a fair bit of buffer for walking pace, it probably doesn't even matter even if the cyclist is crossing at 10kmh, jogging pace.

This fella was gunning across the first signalised crossing at well over 15kmh.
edit - i just quickly calculated. 0.67 seconds (20 frames worth, the "Stats for nerds" on the youtube video details is 30 fps for the last lane closest to the kerb which is 3.5m. It was probably faster than that as he was already slowing down.
That's 18.8kmh. Absolutely no walking pace even a fastest one.
Actually can easily tell from just watching it is not 6-8kmh (8 being the fastest pace that regular pedestrians can walk), but if someone really needs an approximate ballpark figure then this is it.
Nice work. (y)
I do slow and leisure riding sometimes .. my bicycle has a speedometer...somehow I am not convinced that it was 18.8 km/h. 😂

I was about to move off when the cyclist did an abrupt right turn just before the pedestrian triangle and cycled full speed and cut in front of my car. Lucky I was slow in moving off.
After this I became very wary of cyclists. Just because they are cycling on the pedestrian crossing doesn’t mean they won’t suddenly transform to road vehicle again

Sometimes really dunno what they thinking. Yesterday I encountered a similar rider while in 2nd of 3 lanes heading towards junction. Rider was close to pavement on leftmost lane. Amber came on, I slowed and he suddenly cut across all 3 lanes
I would think the better/safer choice was to reach the junction then simply use the pedestrian crossing. But nope he just had to assume that no car will be trying to beat the amber and assume any car on my right would be able to see him through my car 🤷‍♂️

Nowadays, all these cyclists and motorists want to act garang. When they meet their match, it will be hoot ah ! When charged in court before the judge, will become coward and beg for mercy.

Conduct at and when approaching crossings
14.—(1) Every cyclist, mobility vehicle user and PMD rider —
(a)when approaching a pedestrian crossing or zebra crossing, must proceed at such speed as will enable him to stop his bicycle, three‑wheeled pedal cycle, recumbent device, power-assisted bicycle, mobility vehicle or PMD (as the case may be) before reaching the crossing; and
[S 168/2024 wef 01/03/2024]
(b)when at the pedestrian crossing or zebra crossing, must stop and look for on-coming traffic before using that crossing.

no...just no...

already have so many threads on cyclist and every single time will have people comment this then get corrected. Why still have people saying this?

IMHO, the best thing is to just let him zip through and have his thrill. Then he’ll keep doing it and his luck will run out eventually.
Just like those motorcycle that like to cut here swerve there, they don’t realise that it’s the drivers that brake not their skills or their underpowered 150cc bike that got them through. Sooner or later, they will meet a driver who doesn’t give a F.

We are not as big as other countries mah. So little space, so many people and vehicle (incl. bicycle, pma, pmd, etc.) of course cannot cycle any direction or anywhere. How to be happy?
