Got zebra crossing so cam car should just slow to a crawl instead of horning at the cyclist.

What a nice weather today, I went for a ride this morning. When I use the zebra crossing, I still gesture and say thank you to the drivers who slowed down and stop for me. So it's experimented by me based on my cycling experience in SG, the driver in this video purposely endanger that cyclist.
oh you are still here, still waiting for your response
He slow down already your eyes can't see? Cyclist thought that the car will stop at a distance, but who knows the driver continued. Lucky the cyclist slow down, if not the driver would have come very close to him

cam car stop on time and did not bang cyclist, can also talk and claim until it is cyclist slowed down, when it is the cam car that stopped before zebra crossing and cyclist is on the tarmac, the usual mind blowing "defense" style of spandex :s22:
by the way, how come you avoided sharing what is in front of the cam car and what the bicycle is lying on? :s13:

what a nice weather today, the errant cyclists videos are viewed by me, see the reckless cyclists get pawned multiple times, sleep very well

You should slow down to a stop, not chiong and stop suddenly. Doing so endangers pedestrian's life as they cannot determine your intention. The drivers today all start to slow down from at least 50m away, this is what it should be done. So many black sheep drivers, should revoke their license.

That when acc happen, all dont follow

It could happen when…… Both cyclist and driver are equally impatient….and a Cyclist who hates driver and a Driver who hates Cyclist.…..Tio Bo? :ROFLMAO:

What has our society done to make these people so entitled?
No enforcement against them even if they r in d wrong. Which culminated in their mentality tat they can do whatever they want without any repercussions.

Last night I just saw 1 kid ride an ebike on d road. Then changing lane precariously like he owns d roads.

The cyclist slowed down and veered to the right. If he didn't slow down and veer off, he would have knocked into the car. The cyclist is not riding very fast so the driver could have seen him if he slowed down to stopping speed.

Quite a few people say the cyclist slowed down but to my eyes, the cyclist did not appear to slow down at all, certainly not to the "did not go over 10km/h" or "about 5-6kk/hr" he supposedly slow down to.

To be fair, I decided to check the data instead of relying on eyes based on distances from Google maps ( pixels not the ruler ) and frame by frame.

Conclusion: OMG, the cyclist DID slow down

Counting from rear wheel off the pedestrian island on the far right to the near left pedestrian island, he was averaging 17.7km/h
For the ~3m distance of the pedestrian island, he averaged 13.9km/h, slowing down by a massive 3.8km/h! :s13:

Given this is by frame and pixels, there will be some margin of error esp for the last part because the time is short and we have to estimate a distance offsetting the wheel base. Still it is at least 2x of the 5~6kk/h the cyclist claimed he was doing.

Nowhere close to the "must stop and look for on-coming traffic" and also not at pedestrian safet speed.

you should also measure the driver's speed. Pretty sure it will shoot thru the chart

Good idea and would be fair too.

Counting complete ( ignoring initial fade in and final shortened marking near crossing) dashed markings, the car was doing around 36km/h at the start of the clip, slowing down through out the whole duration to around 21km/h well before the stop line.

Counting the black/white kerb marking, which matched on the straight but might be a bit inaccurate at the curve, he was slowed to ~16km/h when the cyclist front wheel initially reached the pedestrian island.

Which means he was actually slower than the cyclist heading into the final part of this incident :s13:

So as far as the clip shows, he was well within the speed limit of the road and slowed down as required to a safe speed.

this video still nt so bad leh.. the cyclist come from the right still can see if driver turn his head 1 cm more..... bt hor if you kana those cyclist come from the left side... knn tt angle v harder to check... you hv to turn your head and body juz to make sure dont hv lance armstrong coming from your blind spot....

those want to side cyclists obv no licence dont drive... becoz i want to ask... if they expect driver to check... and cyclists dont follow the rules... ride v fast... so hw much more far back shld drivers check at zebra crossing... realistically speaking???

Seem like 10-15km/h…For me, i could stop in time as i don’t like to drive fast, always prefer to slow down till almost a complete stop before these junction and check if it is safe… just my driving habit
I learn from road safety park and driving centre leh always slow down at zebra crossing be prepared to stop.

Now many cars want zoom across humps and turning out or in carpark or zebra one

:ROFLMAO: Driver will be summonsed if they fail to stop when there are pedestrians or cyclists about to cross…No?

Just takes this rule is still correct and applicable… else relevant JLB better sort rules/laws out… need to make it clear for all of us….

Basic theory, pg 35 -Slow down and stop if there are pedestrians or cyclists crossing or about to cross.

Driver did stop after the cyclist violated the "must stop and look out" rule and reached the "about to cross" state. Which was all within barely 1 second. Cyclist really should thank driver for slowing down before crossing, for being alert and having fast reflexes.

But the car’s front left wheel looks like on the zebra crossing already…… Did he manage to stop in time?…Maybe that cyclist had moved away to protect himself :ROFLMAO:
