I cycle to work, PCNs are absolute rubbish to commute when I cycle more than 30 kph..
Think perhaps those who really cycle alot one, especially for work or going places everyday will know. Only the road is best. Certainly not those ad hoc recreational cyclist.

Even though local road condition not exactly good for bicycle. But still better than pavement and cycling path. As they need to maintain a certain constant faster pace, which the road is better suited for.

Some cycling path see look like road, but never bother level one. Ride on it need to have very strong butt and arm, shake like don't know what. Might as well ride on road better, at least much of the time still smoother, since the road made for heavier vehicle.

Some more going from place to place, the road don't have that much obstacles need to constantly look out for, start, stop or brake. Pavement and such anytime can suddenly break level with ground rise or drop, if not pedestrian and other users appear in front. For cyclist own safety and comfort, ironic as it may seems, the road seems better despite the motor vehicle.

well

motorists get penalised and punished for their errant ways.
that is due of course,

cyc;list.... pffft
either they die causing an accident or they jus pedal away.
u tell me, how to acknowledge them as fellow road users?
responsibility on road? Never... they pin it on motorists. Shameless hypocrites.
Cyclist wants speed too

But no matter how fast

They still lose to the speed of a vehicle

i cycle at least 3 times a week to work, rest of the week use motorcycle and drive occasionally. My workplace is 20km from home and I take 45 mins to reach from my home. If i were to use PCN + pavement i will need at least 1 and a half hours which is a joke because i cant even hit more than 30kph.

Think pcn is build for leisure, people going nowhere much, not so much for people going from place to place.

For people who cycle for work or going places, they usually take the shortest possible path, which think many pcn are not, as they tend go merry go round.

Almost never use pcn unless it happen to be along the path and short cut. Don't dare ride too fast on pcn also. As alot the surface quite uneven, especially those connecting point with other paths, almost often not smooth out one, thus got sudden bump. Can be really uncomfortable, if not dangerous when ride fast on it.

Think as long as go above 15kph, especially more than 20kph, the road is better. Pavement and such not build for such speed. Not safe.

Fine so little ah. Their bikes sometimes cost more than $15k.

Should increase to $1000 and compound their bikes. After pay fine, send the bike to incinerator.

PCNs are never the shortest path, in fact, from the context of heading to specific places, they are normally the furthest. They also currently run the problem of lining to a spot and then disappearing all together to pathways and you are left wondering where the next connecting point is ( although as more PCNs is built the connectivity will be better). PCNs also have issues such as leading you to an expressway bridge with no alt paths and the only way to cont is to go up the bridge where u have to dismount etc and that breaks momentum etc.

PCNs are also much darker compared to roads esp past 8pm and the use of lights can irritate oncoming users in the path as well, even when pointed downwards. Some of the older PCN surface is horrendous and even when there's repair work that will entails months of inconvenience becuz the entire section is sometime blockaded off. You will never have this problem with road.

but every weekends and sometimes even weekdays, i see grown men wareing funny superhero skin tight suits playing their bicycles on the road

are these grown men cannot think properly, or is my mama wronged all this time?
or is it ware superhero suits got superhero powers immune to the dangers?
:frown:
time have changed. Your mama probably didnt know about tour de france back in her days.

Alot of those cyclists think they are auto athletes just by donning those tights and/or getting expensive bikes.
