if there is a cycling lane beside the pedestrian footpath, cyclist should not intrude, if sharing 1 lane, there should be give and take, pedestrian should keep to the left and cyclist should lookout for vulnerable child or elderly or preggy

Music always raise your elbow when you see or hear a cyclist approaching you on the pavement. Or have a stick ready so that the cyclist will give your a wide berth.

There is a difference between ringing once and kept ringing.

If ring once, its to alert ppl that there is a cyclist behind them.
If ring repeatedly, it means the cyclist wants you to get out of his way.
Lao auntie me, doesnt hiew cyclist who kept ringing the bell.
Depending on how far and what's the reaction of the ped, i ring 1-3 times.

I use a E bell so i do a half beep. In case u dunno what's that, it means instead of doing the electronic bell for 1 sec, i press it once so the beep sounds comes out then i stop.

If after 1 beep, the ped instead does not change his movement, it means he's either not hearing me or is distracted. Another half beep later if nth, if can i will move to his side, otherwise i slow down, then approaching him i beep again.

Usually for these type is they are listening to music so cannot hear me. Totally understand since i listen to music while i cycle too. But if it's those like say.. auntie talk talk talk and talk 3 in a line that type, taking up fully my space then a bit harder to justify ma. I ring bell very far away already... let u know i am approaching, slow down a bit liao, i give way, they give way, i go on my way, they can cont chatting etc. Please dun misunderstand this as a demand or anything like that. What i am trying to do is, let you know i am around, i will cycle past asap and we both dun have to bother with each other anymore.

I can make some way and still continue walking on the path. If THEY refuse to slow down and yield, then they can't blame me if I push/kick them out of my harm's way.

I am a ped on a ped walkway. I have the right of way.

Sometimes the path too narrow or too crowded also can ring.

They no eyes see is it???
Especially at crowded bus stops and pedestrian walkway towards mrt station, keep ringing non-stop. I just ignore. There are so many commuters walking around, still demand people to give way to them. Why can’t they just dismount and push?

Especially in traffic light crossing. Insist on not dismounting and want to overtake.

I dislike cyclists who speed on pedestrians path.. there’s no monitoring and policing of speeding cyclists though rules are there. Well end up like other countries where such practices become embedded into our culture
Have, they have temporary camera set up ad-hoc at some places to catch two wheels users on such.

Nowadays like more and more such camera liao. Increasing the so called monitoring perhaps. All over the place can see all sorts of camera liao nowadays. Mata cam, cyclist cam, now even NEA also into the game set up such camera in some places liao. Not sure for what.

Erm, which dinosaur age rule is that? Correct if wrong, think there were never any rules that require dismounting at crossing. Except for some places which put no riding sign. But do have to slow down and look out for traffic though.

There is no rule to say you must dismount. And yes the dinosaur law has never update since don't know when. But in high pedestrian crossing I have seen cyclist almost falling off because they can't even ride properly. Just dismount and push instead of potentially crashing others
