like that i must always use car horn, cos cyclist wearing spandex, backside no eyes. they don’t know car approaching, so must horn lor. the longer the horn the better.

Its ok to defend yourself if you need to. If you see a bicycle coming at you straight, what do you do? Tbh, I would stretch out my leg, if he falls, he falls.

Honestly, if the footpath is not wide enough, I really don't want to give way to cyclists. You just dismount and walk around me. That's what I do anyway. It's damn rude to horn people.

When i was walking the dense residential area in tokyo Japan, the cyclists no ring bell behind. They slow down and only ride past pedestrians when it is safe.

i think why cyclists have to ring at pedestrians because some sinks don't keep left when walking -- the type that have no care for other pedestrians and cyclist and walk like a king in the centre of walkway.

When entitled pedestrians walk on cyclists lane, they should be given fine. At traffic lights cyclists lane where the green lights shows a green bicycle symbol I often see entitled pedestrians walk on cyclists lane and pedestrian lanes, they are in the wrong too.

This is accurate, cyclist should also slow down a bit and pref ring in advance instead of right behind them, they can be startled and jump into your path etc.

There are electronic bells one can buy for cheap and sounds pretty loud so peds should have no reason to say they cannot hear them, so long as the bell is rung in advance.

There is a difference between ringing once and kept ringing.

If ring once, its to alert ppl that there is a cyclist behind them.
If ring repeatedly, it means the cyclist wants you to get out of his way.
Lao auntie me, doesnt hiew cyclist who kept ringing the bell.

Agree, I a hearing impaired on both ears. Only wearing one hearing aid with minimum effect. I am always at risk while walking even with walking stick in public road, foot paths, etc. Some of them shouted at me to hearing their ringing, when they turned around to look at me, I show them that I am not able to hear and my walking stick (not my middle ________)

For you and some of the other similar folks who are not responsive I will slow down to their pace

Seriously, if the cyclist is such in a hurry, he should just cycle on the road.

Encountered similar situation at the Chinese Garden station bus stop. It was crowded and one lady told the cyclist to dismount. The cyclist replied why I can't cycle through here.
