the video no sound how you hear car horn and vulgarity?
I thought I hear the driver singing Taylor Swift song :s12:
Looking at the driver's face, more like he sings death metal type. He didn't slow down and stop until almost touching the zebra lines. In school, we were taught to slow down before coming near the lines and stop to look, before driving off. This driver clearly broke the rules, need to make sure he can't drive again

did the cyclist slow down and stop? where did the cyclist stop at, on the road or the island? the spot where the bicycle is lying on, can tell everyone what is that white stripe on the road?
so did the cyclist slow down enough to stop before crossing? if no, the cyclist clearly broke the rules, need to make sure he can't cycle again

Both wrong.
Cyclist just dash without slow down.
Motorist speed thru without slow down.

Chiu got learn basic theory? Zebra crossing, pedestrian has right of way - meaning, it's green light for them. They can dash across, it's their right. Bicycle is considered pedestrian.

Really, need to get all motorists to go and retake basic theory. So many people don't know, they need to slowdown and even stop at the zebra crossing line. 😅

cyclist got learn which theory? :s13:

While the Road Traffic (Pedestrian Crossing) Rules do not require cyclists to dismount and push at traffic crossings, section 14(1)(b) states that cyclists “must stop and look for on-coming traffic” before using a zebra or pedestrian crossing.

Need to shift some blame from the cyclist to the driver so that it won’t look so bad on one side

Of cos must say equally at fault

oh ya, I think i read before comments in the channel about the typical spandex defense tactics; if all "reasoning" fails, find fault with the driver so it looks less bad for the cyclist :s13:

Bicycle = pedestrian?

To be fair, the driver was certainly wrong in this incident.

As a driver going through zebra crossing, you are expected to travel at a speed that allows you to stop in time before the white lines. I think some drivers forgot about this.

Granted the cyclist was going faster than a normal pedestrian, the onus is on the drivers to keep a lookout for anyone crossing the zebra crossing.

It is a common ruse not just in spandex world

both at fault (but one super minor and one super unacceptable)

both useless (but one efficacy much higher than the other)

even if the driver just drive across the bicycle on the floor, he is still at less fault than the cyclist. The cyclist is still the one endangering the driver and other drivers. If the driver just drive across he is endangering he himself too so he shouldn’t but primary fault still with the cyclist

but as usual the cyclist gets away most of the time unnamed or not jailed
