One look can tell you don't cycle. That guy only briefly (3sec) went to lane 2 because he needs to make space for the cyclists inside. He's the safety and pacer so he can do that. Others in the group keep to the lane orderly.

Btw is night time, most likely mid night, no cars. So beating red light won't cause harm to any driver.
So based on your logic, since there are no other users on the road, it is ok to ignore traffic lights?

With this type of entitled crooked mindset, do you really need to wonder why everyone treats cyclists as road pests?

Ask u a question. If midnight no cars around the traffic junction and the light is red, do u just cycle through or u stop as per the traffic signal? *note that there happen to be a TP waiting at the junction as well for the light to turn green.

Cause from what u said, u will just dash through the red light as no cars around other then the TP. And u will explain to the TP no cars around.
Aiya, simple la...when they do illegal things...they deem they are in the right....when kena problem...all come cry father cry mother...this type of gu niang riders bey gan one...u see the one at katong jump on bonnet u know...if no kena big time, then still acting Yaya papaya...kena already...smlj also can be used to act like a victim.

If I'm alone, I will dash slowly at 10kmph IF there's no cars and no pedestrians. When light turned green, I'm almost half way in the walking box. I will then speed off normally
So u will break the law in front of the TP and use your logic to explain to him?

Anyway why u need to slow down to 10kmph when no other cars around and won’t cause any harm? U going to beat red light anyway. If u not alone, the group going to dash through at 30kmph or more since more satki?

I can tell you don't cycle. Let me explain to enlighten you. When all the heavy and carbon monoxide producing vehicles got stopped at traffic light, it's safer for the bicycle to move and go ahead first. This is defensive riding.

If I saw lights turn red at a small road. Beside me is heavy vehicle and no pedestrian crossing, I will dash. This is too protect myself and I didn't do harm to why pedestrians

I only heard about this once. After that no more. They are fine for not wearing helmets ect.... Not about speed.
Huh?? R we taking about speed or rules??

SINGAPORE - A total of 26 road cyclists were fined for breaching the rule on cycling group size during an enforcement operation by officers from the Traffic Police (TP) and the Land Transport Authority (LTA).

The operation was conducted from June 24 till July 8, TP and LTA said in a statement on Friday.

A fine of $150 is meted out for road cyclists who flout the rule on group size, which limits cyclists to a group of 10 in two rows, or five if riding in a single file.

The fine is also issued for cyclists who beat the red light, ride on expressways, or ride abreast of another cyclist along single-lane roads and bus lanes during the bus lane operational hours.

The higher fine amount, which came into effect on Jan 1, 2022, is double the previous amount of $75.

Besides issuing the fines, the officers also conducted education outreach to raise awareness on cycling rules and guidelines.

The commander of TP, Senior Assistant Commissioner Daniel Tan, said: “This enforcement operation is part of TP’s ongoing efforts to clamp down on errant cyclists. Cycling rules are put in place to ensure the safety of all cyclists and road users.”

TP said that they will continue to conduct enforcement operations against errant cyclists.

They also advised cyclists to abide by the rules and guidelines for their own safety and the safety of other road users:

  • Obey all traffic signals and travel in the same direction as the flow of traffic.
  • Wear a helmet when cycling on roads.
  • Ride close to the far left edge of the road and allow traffic to overtake you safely.
  • Cycle in a single file on single-lane roads and on bus lanes during operational hours.
  • When riding in the dark, a front white light and rear red light should be switched on.
  • When bicycle lanes are available, they should be used and not other parts of the roadway.
  • Do not use mobile devices while cycling.
  • Do not cycle on expressways, in road tunnels or on selected viaducts such as the Tuas viaduct.

Case by case basis. I will usually read the traffic lights and decided whether to slow down or stop completely. If you drive, you will obtain this reading skill. But no matter what, I will not chiong red light out in the open

Pls bring this up to relevant authorities and not take decision yourself.

Again that’s what u assumed. Similar to what u said no cars can beat red light……

Rules are rules, not what u assume. Why don’t u bring this up and ask lta to change its stance on this?

kapo like to cherry pick one.. u ask him to go infront of tp hq and do that act in midnite, his testicles sure shrink one... let him be..
i remember my friend telling me this before, why reason wif a fool..its juz a waste of time..
i have learnt it the hard way.. instead, we shld discuss how to bring them to law in a constructive manner like.. following them and making calls to tp to request for them to come and take actions, after all, isnt catching someone breaking laws the responsibility of the law abiding citizens..

You are a bad cyclist lol
Coming from a person who beat red light and thinks he is justified to do so with outrageous reasons.

Just for u again. Especially the 1st line:
  • Obey all traffic signals and travel in the same direction as the flow of traffic.
  • Wear a helmet when cycling on roads.
  • Ride close to the far left edge of the road and allow traffic to overtake you safely.
  • Cycle in a single file on single-lane roads and on bus lanes during operational hours.
